I recently contacted Comcast sales dept.in reference to the high cost of T.V. and internet service. With economics being as bad as they are money is very tight and in order to survive we like many others are cutting back. Upon speaking to the Comcast representative on trying to reduce the monthly costs she kept cutting me off telling me they are the cheapest and is there anything else I need! I mentioned a promotion I saw offered by Comcast and was told I had to be a new customer and is there anything else I need! Well at this point I really felt like the only important customer to Comcast is a NEW customer PERIOD!!!! When I told her I felt this way she said she has worked for Comcast for many years and would not allow me to talk down about the company. I kindly reminded her that I was a customer calling with a concern about the high cost of the bill and how I could reduce it. She then explained that Comcast encourages people to shop around (Which at this point I will!!!) I am disapointed in Comcast's approach toward the less fortunate. What ever happened to showing appreciation for loyal customers???

So?

Businesses can charge any amount they want, and it is not a ripoff. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Everyone knows that cable is too expensive, but if you ordered and have been paying for it, then apparently it is worth it for you, which means it is not a ripoff.

Think on something

First off, you can't be too unfortunate if you're buying cable and/or internet. People in shelters think of fresh soap and clean clothes as luxuries. I also bet you have a car you can at the very least afford without going into the hock.

However, I agree with you about their customer recruitment policies. My prices jumped by about half after a year passed. At that point it doesn't seem they care too much because you're in a contract.

Don't whine so much. Keep them until your contract expires and either don't have cable, or internet, or neither if you need money so bad. I haven't watched television in a year. Doesn't bother me.
