I was a loyal customer of the company that was in charge before Comcast bought them out. The prices that Patriot Media charged were more then reasonable and I was more then happy with the service. I was paying a good price for the 4 star package. When Comcast took over it seemed to be going well at first. Then within a few months my cable bill was jacked up to over 300.00 dollars. Granted I was past due at the time, but I had just made a payment when I received this bill.
When i called then to complain about the amount of my bill, they told me that I had agreed to that increase after a few months on a promotion price that was only temporary. I had never agreed to anything, nor would i have agreed to that increase.
Not only that but Comcast customer service is beyond awful. Most of the reps I have talked to there have been rude and not very helpful.
At the present time I am still with Comcast because I don't have a choice at the present time. I also thought I could get some sort of deal on internet service with them due to the fact that I was paying so much for cable service, but no when i called they wanted to charge me a fortune, so I went with someone else.
If you can go with someone else I would try and do so, before this company empties your pockets.

I'm a new customer with Comcast...horrible service, rude customer service,

We relocated to Georgia in July of this year. At our new address the only service available is Comcast for both internet and cable. The service is beyond bad, it constantly is either totally down or pixallating. The customer service is awful and the employees are very rude and un-helpful. We stayed on the phone on hold for 4 over 4 hours before finally giving up and hanging up. Called back the next day only to wait for hours again, again finally hanging up. Finally was able to get through by going online just to be told the service (cable) was down. Tried to set up laptop for use at home online. Was told our laptop must not be compatabile. (later saw on ripoffreport.com that many others have been told this also.
As for cost. Paid 200.00 when I signed up at the Comcast office to have service turned on. When the tech came to the house to turn it on he said he had to collect 221.00 before hooking it up. I told him I had paid 200.00 at the office and showed him the receipt. He stated he showed we had to give him 221.00 at time of hook-up. A week later I received a bill for 21.00 and then the next month I received a bill for 452.00. Comcast is quite expensive. It has now levelled out to 185.00 a month. Don't quite understand what it is exactly I have been paying so much for.
I have just found out about a new service that anyone can receive anywhere in the United States for free. All I have to do is purchase the equipment for 149.00 it is called Freedom to Air. With it you are suppose to be able to receive all the channels and all pay-per-veiw channels for free. Look it up on the internet. My aunt just purchased it and is very happy with it. Of course it does not include the internet but I figure I can just use my wireless card at home for internet.
