My family and I recently moved from North County San Diego, to Temecula, CA.

I had been taking my dry cleaning to the Continental Cleaners in Escondido, CA, so, when we moved to Temecula, it only seemed fair to think that I would receive the same professional service that I had enjoyed for over 3 years at the current location.

I didn't read any reviews, and now I wish that I had. We had dropped off a couple of shirts to the Continental Cleaners at 33175 Temecula Pkwy, Temecula CA (they also have 33175 State Highway 79 as a listed address) about 2 weeks ago, picked them up, and everything was fine, until now.

My wife had dropped off 5 articles for cleaning, and when I went to pick them up, I noticed that my once red Jamaica Jaxx (similar in quality to Tommy Bahama, but without the dry cleaning issues) shirt was not a mixture of white with red accents.

I politely asked the woman behind the counter (goes by Tess) to inspect the shirt. She immediately said that Tommy Bahama shirts are known to fade. I corrected her by showing her that it wasn't a Tommy Bahama shirt.

Frustrated that I had thwarted her uneducated attempted to lay fault on the manufacturer, she then pulled the shirt's tag which reads, "This garmet is pigment dyed. The colors are meant to fade when washed. Follow the care instructions on reverse carefully. Machine wash cold. Wash colors separately. Gentle Cycle. Only non-chlorine3 bleach when needed. Line Dry. Cool Iron. DO NOT DRY CLEAN.

HMMM.....

So I said, "Well it is obvious that you guys dry cleaned this garment, and now the color is gone".

At that, Tess dismissed me, and went about her busy work. I then asked for a manager, and she said, "NO".

About 2 minutes after we then went into an exchange of fault, a short Asian man (goes by JD) came out of nowhere and got right in my face telling me that the snafu was not the fault of the cleaners, and that I should leave.

I let them know that the right way to handle the situation would be to refund the cost of the dry cleaning, and replace the shirt. At this, the little man got very heated and told me to leave.

I left and then looked on line to find that this is a common problem with this cleaner.

Please read the Yelp reviews before taking your clothes to this cleaner, they will ruin your clothes and then make it seem that you are at fault!!

In response to your personal rebuttal, I'll say this. Knowing that this particular shirt has been laundered at a Continental Cleaner in Escondido. The reason that I had used Continental Cleaners in the first place is that this cleaner, like many, offer both dry cleaning and laundry services, and because it was previously laundered, not dry cleaned, there were no issues.

Obviously, when I enter into a PROFESSIONAL establishment to drop off my dry cleaning and laundry items, the cleaner and I agree which is dry cleanable and which items are for laundry.

FORTUNATELY for me, my ticket reflects that the item was dropped off to be laundered (NOT DRY CLEANED), as the tag instructed.

YOU assume that it was not. You may want to ask questions instead of firing off uneducated statements when placing a reply in this forum.

Aside from my experience, there are 7 other negatives reviews from different client on Yelp, all of which fall in line with my complaint.

I guess we are all children and immature?

Really???

They are a dry cleaning business, so THEY are safe assuming that ANYTHING dropped off can be dry cleaned. OBVIOUSLY your shirt is NOT dry cleanable. So because YOU or YOUR wife made the mistake of dry cleaning the shirt, the dry cleaners are the ones YOU chose to hold responsible for the shirt fading. Seems to me that YOU didn't follow the cleaning instructions. When the inevitable outcome is that the shirt fades, THEY are the bad guys?? YOU couldn't be bothered to even READ the cleaning instructions yet YOU feel that THEY should have had some form of "Clothing Telepathy" and KNOWN that the shirt wasn't supposed to be dry cleaned. Yes, they dry cleaned the items YOU dropped off, as is their job. If YOU couldn't be bothered to READ, how in ANY WAY can you hold THEM responsible?? Oh that's right, the USUAL self entitlement. YOU completely gloss over YOUR part in all of this. YOU screwed up and YOU want to hold THEM responsible for the FACT that YOU DID NOT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! Yeah YOUR a real adult. Real mature. Oh wait...NO YOURE NOT!!! Accept the FACT that YOU screwed up FIRST and move on. Even in a small claims case, YOU WOULD LOSE!!! Why??? Because YOU are the one who wears the shirt, and YOU are the one who did not read the care instructions. YOU are responsible BECAUSE YOU owned the shirt in the first place. Its HIGHLY irregular for THEM to stop and examine each and every item dropped off to see if it can be dry cleaned. Its just something that THEY are not going to do. As a business that would add extra labor in order to check each and every item. Which would raise the costs of your cleaning. So if YOU want to complain, do it on FB. YOU should have known better as it was YOUR shirt. Im 100% sure that its NOT the first time that shirt has EVER been cleaned. So as the owner of the item, it was YOUR responsibility to ensure it was cleaned accordingly. What it REALLY sounds like is that YOU took a RISK!!! And now that the risk YOU took ended poorly, YOU hold them responsible.
