THIS IS TO MAKE PEOPLE MORE ALERT TO THIS PARTICULAR SCAM.  The greedy, deceptive Timeshare selling companies have discovered a consumer with more knowledge of their listing scams, so now they're doing this:

Continental Vacation Services (CVS) called & said the company that listed our timeshare for sale had  a buyer &  asked CVS to handle the closing.  I was assured that CVS was not a listing company; their business was handling timeshare closings that already had a buyer with money in hand.  When I asked the name of the company that contacted CVS, I got some sort of lame excuse that it was confidential.

The caller needed to input our credit card number into their system to get a confirmation number for the transaction, emphatically insisting several times that no charges would be made to the card, since all preliminary work, including title search, had been done by the listing company.  CVS would mail us the necessary legal papers, we had 7 days to look them over and accept by signing, or cancel the transaction.  She repeatedly emphasized the legitimacy & integrity of CVS; said they had a Florida State Representative right there in their office to assure the legality of operations.

Then, came another "necessity" - $1994.00 in "legal fees" to reverse the transaction in case the deal fell through.  We'd get the $1994 refunded when the deal was complete, or if we cancelled within 7 days of receiving the paperwork. She knew all along that she'd be requiring this charge, all the while stating that no charges would be made to our credit card.  Our conversation was so intense that when she finally turned me over to the "Florida State Representative" (who turned out to be a CVS employee), I hadn't authorized a charge to our credit card. They charged it anyway.

On 9/13  we received the documents - very clearly a sales contract, thanking us for listing our timeshare for sale with CVS.  The $1994.00 was a listing fee. We returned the documents, unsigned, via certified mail, on 9/14, I saved all certified mail receipts, kept copies of the CVS unsigned documents, called CVS  & cancelled the transaction, and put the $1994 in dispute with the credit card company. I also sent a letter to the CVS :Director of Finance" detailing her deception and falsehood.  Click the following link to read the BBB report about CVS:

http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/time-shares/continental-vacation-services-in-boca-raton-fl-92020456.

If the link doesn't work, copy & paste it into your browser.  CVS has an "F" rating with the BBB, based on misrepresentation, high pressure selling, problems with refunds, dishonesty, fraud, etc. On The report the BBB also llists other CVS locations in Florida.  Their parent company is in England - Continental Properties, LTD. 48 High Street Haslemere Surrey UNITED KINGDOM GU27 2LA.   This entire incident was one of lying untruth, extreme & deliberate falsehood, and purposeful misrepresentation.  Even though CVS isn't a member, the BBB does publish complaints from consumers who do business with non-BBB members to warn others..  I placed the charge in dispute with the credit card company on the grounds that I'd cancelled within the 7-day period. I sent the credit card co. copies of all CVS documents, correspondence, etc.  CVS objected loudly, but had no choice but to reverse the charge and credit the $1994 back to our credit card.  So much for that.  LOOK OUT, THEY'RE STILL OUT THERE WITH THIS LYING METHOD OF SWINDLING YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY.
