While browsing for a gift online I ran across Cooking Pleasures website where they were offering a free knife and you pay only shipping, and had no further obligation to buy more. I just received an email saying they had trouble charging my account for the payment of my next knife. They have misled me, and I suppose others who had no idea what they were getting into and do not want to be charged for any more knives. My only income is SSI and I cannot afford $50 a month for more knives, this is rediculous and I don't want them to get away with this. The email they sent was "do not reply" and there is no way to contact them on their website, so I don't know what to do to stop them. Please help me deal with these people. Thank you.

There phone number is not listed in the TOA and this is a riup off becuase i looked for over an hour for their phone number and only found it on this website. Also their knives are cheap and flimsy and not worth what they are asking for luckly I cancelled my membership before the next knife shipped. Companies like this are trying to rip people off.

Ok. This is a follow up to my last report. I was able to finally use the automated cancel system. They state future orders are canceled, if i receive a package, mark it refused and return to sender and allow 8-10 weeks to process. We shall see what happens. I will report back.

Here is the number to cancel. 800-209-8397. It is option #2 to cancel, you then enter the last 4 digits of your credit card and then zipcode, and # for reason for cancellation. Good luck.

No, I DON'T work for them.

BTW, what does being on SSI have to do with this?  Does it mean you're senile and stupid?

Sounds like you joined The Cooking Pleasures Cutlery Collection Program

It is one of those membership clubs that sends you the item, in this case cutlery, every month on a subscription basis. You pay for the knive/cutlery each and every month except for the one that is offered free with the sign up as a bonus. It is very clearly indicated on their website in the terms and conditions section of Step 3 right under your credit card account number.

Personally, I don't like to pay for any type of monthly membership program for shipped items so I never order them. But this particular one has the membership requirement very clearly indicated on page one of the site on the left side. It's one of those you can't miss if you are actually reading the site information. If you can't afford a monthly membership, then cancel it as the cost is somewhere from $49.99 to $89.99 per month plus shipping!

Look at the terms to see the proper way to cancel it before next months shipment comes to you. In this case you need to take responsibility for not reading the terms before you signed up. Take action right away to cancel or you will be stuck for another month.
