COPPER.NET WARNING: Access is NOT unlimited, Copper.net will cut your internet off if you go over a certain amount of hours and they continue to bill if you stop using their service. Copper.net refuses to refund. Installs the words Copper.net on all your browser pages. Copper.net is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Copper.net is the worst internet service provider I ever tried. I have been with copper.net for 3 years now and when i signed up i remember when i did they said it was a unlimited residential usage! Which is 10 hrs per day, but if you do go over 300 hundred hours its actually sad! Get a life if your on the computer that much! And when i talk to the representative last month about cancelling my account they told me that they needed voice conformation that im cancelling!! An they even stated in the terms of service they do not refund monthly accounts! Im not planning on cancelling anytime soon! This is an american company that has not shipped their jobs out of the USA and im proud of them! You just need to learn to read your terms of service and not waste your life on your computer! Thank you Copper.net for the best service since 2007 for me!

Unlimited Access

In response to V.P. Marketing, I went to the Basic ISP web site and it plainly states "Basic ISP is: Reliable Unlimited Service". After placing the main advertisement stating that you provide unlimited access and then place somewhere in your terms of service that you actually regulate internet access is double talk and very misleading. If I'm not mistaken it also fall into the category of false advertising. You might want to recheck the Basic ISP website before stating something that just isn't true. On the other hand I did not see Unlimited Access anywhere on the Copper.Net website.

I appreciate the ability to respond to "Anon" from Alabama. Copper.net and BasicISP.net are owned by the same company. Copper.net provides toll free support while BasicISP.net charges a flat fee of $4.95 per incident after the initial 30 day risk free trial period. Both companies have a 30 day money back guarantee policy. A customer can cancel anytime without incurring cancellation fees whatsoever. Nowhere on either website do we advertise "unlimited" service. We actually state the opposite on our questions pages:
copper.net/faq.asp
basicisp.net/FAQ.asp
Both companies have a 200 hour monthly limit. That averages out to be over 6 hours of online usage every single day. Most customers will know within their initial 30 day risk free trial period if this will be an issue for them.
As for being dishonest, I am very surprised by that charge. We work hard to provide the best service for our customers all day, every day. We consider our customers the reason for our success. We do not sell our customers information or online surfing habits to third party companies, we are an American company that does not outsource our support services or the jobs that go with them, and we are very easy to get a hold of if you have questions or need assistance with your service.
I am not sure why "anon" made those comments, but I can assure you that Copper.net and BasicISP.net are honest companies that provide inexpensive Internet service and truly care about their customers! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to email me directly.
Sincerely,
Mike Cook
