I to was a victim of Certegy. They send your check through twice, then turn it into an ACH(automatic) withdrawal. They STILL have to have permission from YOU to submit it through your account, but they never ask you for permission, they just do it beings it was turned into an automatic withdrawal!. Im up to 99 bad checks from someone writing 7 off of my account. With my bank knowing about it, they wont help me with reversing the fee's. Anybody else interested in a lawsuit?

If I'm reading this corectly is seems that you are a victim of identity theft where some of your checks were stolen from your check book and passed to different merchants.
Unfortunantely this sort of thing happens almost daily, what you need to do is call Certegy at 800 770 3792 let them know what has happened and ask to be sent out an affidaivit which you will need to fill out with as much information that you may have available, you will also need to provide a police case #, once this information is received the responsibility for these charges will be taken off your shoulders as this was identity theft. The police case # is needed for Certegy to be able to assist you in clearing this matter up.

Unfortunately, you're not a victim of Certegy, but rather the failure to have been educated on the check acceptance procedures of wherever you wrote the check. 10-15 years ago, it seemed, that just about every cash register in the United States that certifies their customer's checks thru electronic means had a good sized sticker or mat at their register, specifically highlighting the check acceptance procedures. Nine times out of ten, these procedures include the stipulation of allowing an ACH on all returned checks.
Unfortunately now, most companies post these at their customer service area, but to my knowledge, that's all that the law requires of them. The information is there, but it's the consumer's job to read them. By signing that check, you're ageeing to the company's terms of service and acceptance - which usually includes the ACH. Crappy on the company's behalf, but thats how it goes. Certegy is just the third party agency hired for collection after the company itself has decided it doesn't want to directly deal with collections. Generally, Certegy does not waive fees, nor do collection agents have direct contact with the customer company.
