*Consumer Suggestion: how to get out of it
*Consumer Suggestion: file complaints with both Federal Trade Commission and your State Attorney General
Credigy says that my husband and I had a Fleet card and that our debt was bought by First Select then purchased by Credigy. They say we owe $11,549.14. However, they will settle for $5774.57.
Only problem is, my husband and I never had a Fleet card. I've written them with no satisfaction. I do not know how to get them to remove it from our credit report.

Go to your local police station tell them you want to report you have a fraud account make sure you have a copy of your report handy and get a report call Credigy and ask them for a fraud package and fill out all info and follow all instructions. once you have conformation from Credigy of the staus of your account hen you call the three major bureaus and dipute the info on file. This way you have proof of letter and also it will be removed faster. I also am a victim.

file complaints with both Federal Trade Commission and your State Attorney General

I would file a formal complaint with your State Attorney General. Ask for documents which they claim has your signature. Further more under federal law you are entitled to the documents which led to the fraudulent balance.
File a complaint with Federal Trade Commission. By doing this every legitmate complaints adds to building a suit against these crooks.
Further dispute any listings on your credit report. You are entitled to one free report every 12 months from all three Credit reporting agencies.
Check out BudHibbs.com site. he has plenty of information on these lowlife crooks.
Good Luck, and remember never ever call and talk with these crooks. Do things only in writing. Send them a cease and desist letter or better file. Do not send them any payments. You will reset the statute of limitations again.
