I dropped off my 97 Q45 on Friday April 15th. When I dropped my car off I had been experiencing some power surging issues. I assumed that my MAF or Air Filter might have been the culprit. Otherwise my car was in good shape for a 14 year old car. I always keep it in a garage and very clean.

I dropped my car off late Friday afternoon and had to find someone to take my car. Not a problem, its Friday and the last thing I want to do is take on more work, I get it. The gentleman that I spoke to explained that they had a lot of cars to get through on Sat and that they may not be able to get to my car until Monday. Again, not a a problem, I understand. I had them run a diagnostic, just to confirm my suspicions.

Monday April 18th rolls around and they send me a report explaining that it was my MAF and O2 sensors. The same guy that took my car, also explained that it might take some time to get the MAF sensors, but that the O2s were available. I opted to not to do the MAF and gave them a list of other routine maintenance that I knew the car was due. (oil, transmission, and tune up). He said that he would call me the following day when the car was ready.

The gentleman has been very good about calling me to tell me that they do not have the part. After the tragedy in Japan and the age of my car, it did not bother me that it has taken awhile for them to produce the parts. Again, I get it. He offered me a loaner and I declined. I just wanted my car's issues resolved.

Fast forward two weeks and still no part, I finally decided that I would pay for the work that they have done and resolve to drop the car off again when the O2s finally arrived. The same guy said okay, the car would be washed and ready to go first thing in the morning. He did not call to tell me my car was ready until 5:30pm Thursday May 5th. This did not bother me. The $780 something bill did not bother me.

However, when I got into my car the drivers door was broken, the floor board was completely soaked and stained, and my fuse panel door was gone. I am sure there were several other issues. When I say the door was broken, the casing around the door handle on the drivers side door was completely off and dangling in the wind by some wires. My entire floor was wet, black, and smelled of a wet dog.

The guy I had been working with had already left for the day and the gentleman pulled to cover for him, immediately offered to get me a loaner. Again, I just want my car. Regretfully, I had to leave my car there. And now I am getting ready to play the waiting game again.
