CSA Check Services of America Attempt to settle a debt from another company--said a summons was being issued within 6 days, and they were attempting to settle before that time. If not settled, they would come to my house or my place of employment to deliver the summons. Unknown Unknown

Three weeks ago, I received a recorded message which gave no company name, but said that they had proof of fraudulent activity associated with a number relating to me.  They stated that this was an attempt to collect to prevent a summons on this fraud from being placed upon me within the next 6 days. If I returned the call with the specified case number, I could correct the problem.  If I did not, I would be delivered a summons to my residence or my place of employment.  When I attempted to call them back on two separate occasions, I reached an office that was not open, but if I knew an extension number, I could enter that.  I  did nothing, figuring it was a scam. (They used my daughter's married name, but our home phone number at which she has never lived since her marriage.) 

We are continuing to receive the calls, so today I returned the call and talked with a very rude individual who said I was being rude when I informed him no one by the name  they were calling about lived at this telephone number.  He said very rude things to me and hung up.  I called back and talked with a different individual, whom I told that the person with the name they were calling did not live at our number, and he removed our phone number from their computer.  After that, I tried to get more information about his company and the reason for the call, at which time he told me he could not give me any info because I was not the person they were attempting to call.  After I reminded him they have been bothering us for three weeks, he hung up on me also.

I checked your website and found other reports on CSA, so I decided to contact you.  I have already turned this scam into my State Attorney General's Office, with assurance they will indeed follow up on this matter.
