Custom Timpani Failed to Provide Product as Paid For Fullterton North Dakota

I contracted with Christoper Hagen and his company, Custom Timpani, for a used set of Ludwig Professional Timpani with Copper Bowls, comprised of four drums with sizes 23" & 26" 29" & 32". This was a used set of timpani that was to be refurbished, with the work completed and set received before the end of December 2015. I made full payment for the set by the end of September 2015, before any work commenced. 

I made multiple inquiries about the status of my order, and was repeatedly assured that work was just about to be started. During the month of December 2015, however, I began receiving communication from Christopher Hagen with at least three different excuses about why this set could not be completed on time, the last being on Sunday, January 3, 2016, in which it was explained that Mr. Hagen had sold the business and that I should direct my inquiries about my purchase to someone else. Specifically, I was told to communicate with an email address: [email protected] // . Mr Hagen provided an ever escalating series of bizarre reasons why he could take my money but not perform his obligations as agreed. I then made repeated demands for the full return of my money, but Mr. Hagen has simple ignored these demands. 

I subsequently contacted several well-trained, experienced and respected professionals who all had very similar stories to share. These people also extended trust to Hagen only to receive amateur level "refurbished" instruments or they had large amounts of money stolen from them as Hagen took their money and then failed to provide the instruments he agreed to provide. Hagen has left a trail of destroyed relationships in his wake and he and his "company" are bad news. Hagen is a confirmed liar, thief and charlatan and his company is a scam.

I was able to claw back some of the money I paid as it was paid via Paypal, and my credit card company is assisting with getting the remainder of my money back. However, it remains unconfirmed as to whether I will receive full restitution. I have filed complaint with the BBB and have contacted law enforcement personnel. However, law enforcement claims that because this is civil matter, there is nothing they can do. 

No one should have anything to do with Christopher Hagen or his "company" Custom Timpani. Under no circumstances should you do business with him or give him money as part of any proposed transaction.
