My Cardiologist when finding out I snore allot referred me to the Dallas Center for sleep Disorders. I said they charge to much Doc and my insurance probably won't cover it, I know this because about 5 years ago I went for a consultation (with a differant company) and they gave me a price and it was just too much because insurance would pay nothing, I am with a new insurance company so I will give them a call to see if my new insurance company will pay.
I was told by the Dallas Center for Sleep Disorders that in order for them to check with my insurance company I would need to come in first for the free consultation, okay so what can hurt right! I fill out the questionnaire wait for 30 minutes in a room then 2 people come in (one in training) asked a few questions looked up my nose and told me they would get back to me to set the overnight sleep cession.
The Dallas Center For Sleep Disorders calls about 24 hours later and asked when we would like to set up the appointment and the cost will be $850.00 out of pocket so I decline, I am not snoring that bad.
WOW, 2 months later I get a bill from Dallas Center for Sleep Disorders for $375.00 for the office visit, this can't be right I went for the free consultation and besides my Cardiologist wouldn't send me to an out of network Dr. where I only pay a co-pay of $60.00 office visit and that's for a specialist.
I call the Dallas Center for Sleep Disorders and they wont budge they want $375.00.
The Dallas Center for Sleep Disorders may know already that insurance does not pay so they get you in for the 5 minute consultation look up your nose and BAM they just made almost half the cost of the cession anyway.
At no time did they ever post, talk about or inform me in any way that an office visit would be $375.00, this should probably be discussed with the customers at some point before they get the bill, maybe before the consultation.
I feel I have been RIPPED OFF.
