I contracted with Stone Images to build some stamped concrete steps and a walk to my front door.

I dealt with Todd Clap, Dan Bennett and others from Stone Images.

They finished most of the work, so I paid them, when I realized that some of the work was not done correctly, I told them and they stopped working.

When I called Dan he agreed to meet me to discuss fixing it but he never showed up.

This was back in November - 4 months ago.

Since then I have turned it over to the Attorney General. He has contacted Todd and Jennifer Clap many times and each time they tell him they will contact me and finish the work. But they have never contacted me.

I just noticed the previous rip-off report here on Dan that says he had a company before Stone Images that lost it's license for the same reason - taking money and abandoning the project. So I thought I'd add this story to warn others about Todd, Dan and Jennifer.

Now the Stone Images web site seems to have disappeared - so maybe he's lost this license too.

I wish I could just find out his intentions, but he won't return any calls.

This matter is closed

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 15, 2006

Someone from Stone Images came last night and completed the work they agreed to complete.

As a result I no longer intend to pursue any action against Stone Images.

My thanks go to the Fairfax County Department of Cable Communications and Consumer Protection. I won't use the name of the man from Fairfax County, but I feel obliged to make it clear that his patient help and persistence were invaluable in resolving this matter.

Clarification of the office investigating this matter

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 14, 2006

This matter has been investigated by the Fairfax County Consumer Protection Division, not by the Commonwealth's Attorney General.

The initial report had indicated that a man from the Attorney General's office had called; the man was actually from Fairfax County.

The reason for the confusion was that I had initially begun the complaint with the Attorney General of Virginia Office of Consumer Affairs. Apparently the way that works is that the State will forward this kind of complaint to the local authority.

So the investigation was not done by the Attorney General.

Update - He called back

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 08, 2006

Today 3/8/06 almost 4 months later the man from the Attorney General's office got Dan to talk. He sent a guy over to look at the steps. They agreed to make some changes to the work.

The work remains to be done, but at least we finally talked.

I'm hoping that we are close to ending this problem.
