Daria Yolana had 2006 Camry LE listed on Craiglist. Selling for $4400. I confirmed I was interested. She sent me pictures of car and explained the purchasing process by using ebay motor protection program. She said to send the $4400 to an escrow agent : Matt Bronson in California. He would hold the money until I received the car and approved. If not then they would send me my money back. I sent the $4400 by Moneygram Monday 1/26. I received confirmation for this yesterday morning. but that was all I have heard. Nothing of the car being shipped. I have sent many request but no response.

Did you not see in big bold letters on the top of cars and trucks page on Craigslist that says:

"[ OFFERS TO SHIP CARS ARE 100% FRAUDULENT ]"

Common scam

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 28, 2009

One hallmark of most Internet scammers is the requirement to Moneygram large sums of money to someone you don't know.

Another tipoff is the sale of a car (which doesn't actually exist) for less than 1/3 of its actual market value. This reels in those whose greed overrides their common sense.

Lastly, the bogus offer always involves the scammer shipping the car to the victim. The reason for this is that the car doesn't exist, except in pictures, so there would be no possibility of someone actually seeing the car before handing over the cash. In real life, shipping cars around the country is not cheap and a seller is not going to take an additional loss to pay for that. Anytime you see a low priced vehicle and the seller says they'll ship it to you as part of the purchase, it's a scam. Think about it. The seller is supposedly selling the vehicle at way below market value, and then he will take a further loss by shipping it at his own expense? It just doesn't make sense.

Stacy, sorry but you'll probably never see your cash again. These scammers use Moneygrams and throwaway cell phones for anonymity, so it's very unlikely there will be any way to find them.
