College age girls came to my door selling books and magazines. They said they were in a contest to win a trip abroad. I foolishly bought into it and wrote a check for $49.00 and gave them $ 10.00 cash to secure sale for contest. The red flag was a whopping $59.00 for a magazine subscription for two years. The next morning I came to my senses and cancelled the check.
