Deborah Pledger - puppymatch - Paul Pledger Puppy Mill, thin, underweight dogs and puppies, breeds inbreed dogs, and sells as purebreeds Piedmont Alabama

It did not surprise me at all too find Deborah and Paul Pledger selling sick puppies again. I purchased what was supposed to be a Chihuahua from this husband and wife team. The puppy was treated at the vet the day after I got him for intestinal problems, he stayed at the vet clinic for 6 days, on fluids, and antibiotics. The vet said he was lucky to have survived the ordeal. His stools were yellow and smelled awful, his hair was coming off, he had a bad set of teeth, and his gums were pale. I did not know what I was looking for when I set out to buy a puppy for my child.

I trusted this women. She spoke good nice well rehearsed words too me. She would not let me see the parents, I did ask to see them, she told me she had one parent, and a friend of hers had the father to my puppy. I asked if I could just see the mom, and she went out around the house, and held up a dog to the window and placed the dog back down, she didn't bring the dog in at all. I stood up and asked what happened to the mommy, and Deborah said, she doesn't like strangers, she is protective of her family, and that is how chihuahua's are.

I believed her. I believed everything she and her husband Paul told me. I bought the dog for $600.00, a black and tan chihuahua male puppy. When "Jack" was able to get released from the vet, I paid a vet fee of $587.91! The vet told me the dog was NOT a purebreed Chihuahua. I listed him as a chihuahua on the sheet when I signed him up to the vet. The vet told me, the dog looked to be a mix of possibly a chihuahua and a wire terrier dog. He also told me the condition of the dog's coat was reflective of the quality of care the puppy was in. He said his coat was from poor nutrition, his stools were yellow, and this was from the puppy essentially living in his own feces! He said this was common among dog breeders who housed dogs in small confined places, and too many dogs.

I could not believe what I was hearing. I began to cry, I felt so sorry for the puppy, and I felt sorry for my child who I bought the dog for. I did not know what too do. I am one of the lucky ones, I guess, the puppy did survive his ordeal, though I was told twice in his stay at the vet, he could have died, and not too count on him making it. We kept jack for about a month after he was released from the vet, with a clean bill of health.

I gave him to a friend of mine at Church. Jack was not a full purebreed Chihuahua at all. His hair stayed a wirey texture, he grew within a month much larger than any chihuahua I have ever seen. His ears, flopped they never stood, or even tried to stand, oh and Deborah said this was because he was scared, the reason why his ears were not standing at the time of sale! When I called Deborah and Paul Pledger about Jack, the day after I got him, she said to take him to the vet and call her and let her know what the vet said. I did that, she would not contribute to the expense of his care at all! She said, if he DIED she would replace him.

Replace him? How could you replace a life like that? I do not understand these breeders. One puppy dies, and just slip another one right on in? When Jack got released, I emailed her again, and told her he was now well, and healthy. I asked her to please consider helping us out with the vet bills, we still owed. She again, said, the puppy lived, essentially she owed nothing! The condition the dog was in was clearly her fault, he was at the vet the next day! Actually 13 hours later was when he was at the vet's office from the time I picked him up!

I notified her about 4-5 weeks later when it was even more clear too me that my vet was right, Jack was not a purebreed Chihuahua! Even with the vet records and all, Deborah and Paul did nothing! It was a certain bloodline she claimed! My vet said Jack either was mixed/crossed with a wire terrier, schnauzer, or something similar. Deborah laid claim she didn't have any wire haried looking dogs, I told she did now! I asked her if she would take Jack back, he was agressive, and much much larger than what I anticipated, she decline. I asked her if she could help me place him in a home, where his size and personality was more fitting. I had purchased Jack for my 5 year old daughter. Deborah said she would not take him and help me in any way, luckily I found a nice good home For Jack.

Needless to say I had almost 1200.00 in him, and I gave him away. He now lives in Pensacola Florida, the last time I heard anything from my mom(it was her friend through Church that got Jack). So I guess my experience with Mrs. Deborah Pledger and her husband Paul didn't end as tragically as the others listed her. But Jack was indeed sick, very sick, and he was not the breed she claimed he was.

I feel very cheated and scammed by www.puppymatch.org, I hope no one else is going through or goes through what I did with Deborah and Paul Pledger. Going through the experience and the money I did, I have not been able to get another puppy. I am terrified and horrified of what might happen. I guess I should thank Deborah and Paul for that. Thanks www.puppymatch.org for selling me a sick, unhealthy, scared, crossbreed puppy! Thanks to me Jack did live!
