I have 2 dogs I needed to board while we went out of town on an emergency so I called the one place closest to my house which was Dee's Doggie Den. All my information was taken over the phone and the girl I talked said they would check the vaccination records for me at my vets office and everything would be ready when I arrived to leave my dogs so I expected this to be a professional dog business and I could leave town with no worries.
When I first walked in the place I was overwhelmed with the odor of urine but I was in a desperate situation and thought since it was late in the day they had been really busy and would soon clean to get rid of the smells. When we asked to see where our dogs were staying the lady called someone from the back to show us and we were okay (not excited) about the cages where they would sleep. I was assured they would only be in there about 8 hours when they were sleeping. We left our dogs but decided when we returned we would find a better place so the next time we needed to board our dogs we would feel more at ease.
We were gone for 3 days and when we got back our poor dogs looked as if they had been living in a muddy field. Both were smelling of feces and urine, they were filthy. We asked why they were given back in such bad shape and the lady (I think she is a lady) at the front desk said they are dogs and they may stink. This was not the thing to say to me and I became so angry at the fact she treated us like we were the enemy.
Our dogs beds were filthy so much so that I think some other dog slept on one of them. When they brought our things from the back there was onlly one bed and they had to look for the other one. They were gone for a long time so I think it was in the wrong cage. We put the bed in the garbage when we got home because of the odor and filth.
Our dogs food bag had no food in it and we had brought enough for a week in case our trip back was delayed. In fact, there was another kind of dog food pebbles in it that we did not recognize. We wonder what our dogs were fed and where the other food came from.
I went online to check on reviews and found many that were horrific. I was so furious to think my dogs were left in this horrible place. The money we paid for our dogs to be cared for and nurtured was not used to take care of them properly. We will never return to this place nor will we recommend it to anyone. There were a few great online reviews but they all sounded alike and were all about the same length. We feel these were made up by the owner Dee Fort. The horrible conditions far outweigh any need I can see for leaving my dogs at this filthy dump.
We called the next day and requested a refund or at least a partial refund and the rude woman on the phone told us Dee never gives a refund no matter what the situation. I asked to speak with the owner and was told by this lady that she could handle whatever the owner could handle. I felt the owner should have heard us out and offered some sort of compensation since we did not get the services we felt we paid for.
Since this happened I have spoken with several people in the neighborhood who have had unfortunate dealings with Dee or who have heard awful stories of dogs being injured there, especially while there for grooming services. We have investigated other boarding places and found one that is clean, well cared for, the staff are professional and wearing clean clothes and the dogs there seem happy and comfortable. The owner is available should we want to speak with him.
Never use Dee's Doggie Den for any services without checking out other places in the area.

Too many FACTS ? in this report are totally inaccurate and sound like a Competitor or Terminated Employee to be legitimate ... Statements regarding the sexuality of the Front Desk Manager sound like they came from a Terminated Employee AND the statement at the end of the report Claiming another business in the neighborhood is sooo great and the male manager is always available sounds like it is from a Neighborhood Competitor ... So sad that someone would have to go so low to make up FAKE Reports to discredit a business ... Oh and by the way, the ONLY way to get something removed from RIPOFF Report is to pay $2000 arbitration fee to have it removed ... That sounds like another RIPOFF !!

Hi Rambo (Posted Log in) Thank you for your report, however there are numerous things that are not quite correct. First being that I am at the store at least once a day and work most mornings till noon but I am always available by cell phone for the store or for any emergency situation. While I do respect your comments, I would hope that you understand that we are a very respected state of the art facility, newly expanded and remodeled only one month before your posting and our facility not full of urine or a dump by any stretch. We have over 150 doggies in our facility daily, that all require 150 parents to drop off and pick up daily, and our facility is well maintained. Our injury rate is very minimum at 1 to 2 dogs per month getting a small scratch or nick on them, again having over 150 doggies per day, 4500 doggie visiters in a months time frame, says that they are well supervised and cared for daily. As for your doggies, if they came home dirty or smelly, and their bedding was dirty or smelly, it sounds as if they had an accident over night or while in their kennel. Every effort is made to wash all bedding when soiled, and sounds like the one bed was in the laundry room at your time of pick up. As for your doggies, every customer is asked if they would like to have a bath before pick up, because they did just stay in a boarding facility for 3 days and nights and play in daycare for the same amount of time, it sounds as if you opted out of that service. As for your other comments about the neighborhood, my family and I live in the neighborhood and are very active in our community and our children's school and church. Dee's Doggie Den has over 20,000 active customers in our area, many who have been coming to us for all 15 years that we have been in business, and many that are on their second or third doggie during that time.
