I bought a Dell 966 Printer along with a XPS computer several months ago. The computer worked fine but the printer has given me nothing but problems since I got it. When I called technical support outside the language barrier, the tech kept blaming the wireless card i ordered (I never installed) for why i was getting no signal. I told him a million times that it is not installed but plugged in using a USB cable but he seemed to ignore me.

Once I got it going (all by myself by taking the computer apart and wiggling the USB port) it worked ok. Then came the next headache. I ran out of color ink. I clicked the website (dell forced me to go to order new ink) and it was a dead end. I called dell and they told me to go to Staples because they now have the contract to distribute the ink. My nearest Stables is 7 miles away and with gas prices at 4.55 a gallon this upset me. Nevertheless I went.

I asked the cokebottle specticled employee what ink cartridge to use and together we went to the website and found that my model Photo 966 takes a FH214. I purchased it along with the black ink and returned home. The black ink was fine but the color one gave me a carttridge error. After several hundred attempts I went back to Stables (more gas) and Dr. Cyclops (the thick glasses guy) told me that it was an defective cartridge. He then exchanged the cartridge and I took the Oregon trail back home.

Once at home, again it was a cartridge error. I put the only empty one in and it was fine (except no ink) After severl more hundred attempts still bad cartridge. I called dell printers technical support and after dealing with Ms. Roboto to get tranferred to India, the tech brilliantly told me that the cartridge was defective and offered to sell me one online. I explained that Dell told me to go to staples and he told me "Staples sells bad ink cartridges. You should never buy dell ink Cartridges there!" He added that I should buy them from dell directly.

Needless to say, I need to wait for payday to get gas to return the cartridge and begin my next round in the saga of the ink cartridges.
