We purchased bat from DeMarini for our son. During a game he smashed a out of the park run. When he came up to bat next he said his bat felt funny. That night we looked over the bat and noticed it had a ding it. We finished out our season (2weeks) with the bat and then sent it in with the warranty request then to repair it or send a new one. The bat was returned to us two weeks later with a letter stating that the damage was not during game play. It then said to contact Kim Seigal@wilson.com if we did not agree with them.

I e-mailed her right away and explained that we do not use this bat for other than game play, practice, lessons, and hitting in our cage.(We do not have a pitching machine) She then wrote me back and told me that her engineers told her that it could not have happened by a ball. Ms. Seigals exact words"But , a leather or composite ball is not physcially capable of causing the creases". Many metal bats have creases and dents from game play. Watch the college World Series and see how many metal bats are damaged by a baseball.

Consumers pay between 200 and 400 dollars for these bats and to call my son a liar is wrong. We were at the game when we this happened. Was DeMarini there? We showed this bat to his batting instructor and he to feels that DeMarini needs to give him a new bat. My son is a honor student and values his equipment because of how much each item costs. If we were playing little league I would understand that maybe the kid did something to it but, he is in high school and is very mindful of his gear. Ms. Seigal cannot tell me exactly what happened but we can. She insists that it was not game play.

So now my son, my husband, myself and the team and spectators know that the bat made a funny sound when he hit it and that he did not cause the damage. He is not a liar and did nothing to damage his bat but play baseball. We will never purchase another bat or glove or bag from DeMarini again since they do not stand behind their products.

Wednesday the 29th of July, Kim Seigal called my husband and spent and half and hour argueing with him regarding my sons bat. She said she was Federal Expressing him a DEMO bat but would not warranty our bat. She never told my husband what it was or anything. Yesterday we get the bat. We recieved a 08 Voodoo Demo bat that is a model that is almost three years old. We sent them a 09 Voodoo that was purchased brand new from their company. We already own this bat. Futhermore, why would we want a lesser quality bat than he already had plus a older model. If Ms. Seigal would have told us what she was sending us we would have saved us and her time and money. My son and husband, coaches, team mates, and instructor know my son, and know how the bat was dented. The dent is what we wanted covered by their warranty. Her poor attempt at customer care. We have asked them for a return label for their 08 DEMO bat.
