Dior Cleaners, Wilmington, DE - destroys property and refuses to acknowledge damage

Approximately two weeks ago my wife picked up 14 of my dress shirts from Dior Cleaners on Concord Pike in Wilmington, DE. After she brought them home we discovered that each one was torn on the left side of the collar in the exact same place. Clearly, the machine they used to press the shirt collars was defective.

My wife returned to the store and explained the situation to the person behind the counter. He finally said he could not help because he was not the owner and that she needed to come back.

My wife went back two days later and spoke to the person who said she was the owner, named Yang. This person wouldn't let my wife finish her explanation and said that she must have torn the shirts herself. When my wife tried to logically explain that all of the tears were in the same place the owner began screaming at her and pointing her finger in her face. She kept shouting that they didn't do it and told her to get out of her store.

We have been using Dior for 2 1/2 years on a regular basis and they would still not even take the time to discuss this. Also, the owner's behavior was atrocious. Not only is my wife eight months pregnant but my children, ages 3 and 18 months, were with her. Needless to say, the children were terrified. This person saw a pregnant woman with two small children and thought she could be intimidated. I also think it is outrageous that they would not even discuss compensation when the back of their claim ticket says that clothing is covered by insurance, albeit limited.

I just stumbled onto this site today and thought I would try this approach before I contact Small Claims Court, The Better Business Bureau, etc.

If there is anything you can do to help me get reasonable compensation, and an apology to my wife and children, I would greatly appreciate it.
