I have more information regarding the status of this complaint. Direct Buy has not acknowledged receipt of my letter sent October 31, 2006, cancelling membership. However, I did receive membership materials, which I returned marked "refused" based on cancellation of October 31, 2006, enclosed a copy of the letter sent originally, copy of their contract and a new letter indicating a refusal of the membership and any associated fees/services expectations for payment. This was sent certified mail.

Complaints were filed with BBB and FTC and Attorney General.

Regardless of the outcome...I will not pay these fraudulent scam artists one cent. I believe a class action suit is warranted and would appreciate any comments regarding how to do it and who may also be interested and eligible.

As I read more of these complaints regarding this company on a national level, I remain concerned that such fraud is permitted to be perpetrated on consumers to the extent it has occurred with this company without resulting in an investigation and sanctions.

Very understanding company

Every experience I've had with Direct Buy has been great. We were having complications with our bank account and they were very kind and understanding of the situation.

After my complaints issued to the Attorney General's Office, Credit Card Company and another Consumer Advocacy agency, I received a letter with a faxed document from the owner of this organization. The letter was filled with untruths and deceptions...however, he did indicate that if I were to sign a "confidentiality" agreement this matter would be resolved...no further attempts to collect, etc. I faxed the letter to him yesterday and sent the hard copy via Certified Mail. Additionally, I received the financing and membership papers in the mail which I promptly returned also marked "refused" Certified Mail. However, the owner did not identify what the confidentiality agreement consisted of ...which left it up to me to write one...

I will not post further complaints regarding this company unless they do not honor their agreement. This process has been extremely stressful. I had to cancel my credit card account to prevent them from re-accessing and collecting.

The salesmanager is not geared to provide "customer service" but to trigger the customer into a space of powerlessness and being trapped. I admit using foul language at the end point of our conversation. I am not easily triggered. My triggers to the expletives were related to her statement that "we're going to reinstate the charges to your credit card" and her indication that I had to keep paying this account. Also, other mis-statements in the retraction included such "...misplaced her cancellation form..." my packet did not have such a form as I suspect occurred with others.

I am grateful to have this matter resolved...this has been a learning experience...but you will not hear any praises from me regarding this company either...
