I ordered Direct-TV the end of May, 2007.
I received my "Gift with Activation" Redemption Form in early June. I filled it out, attached copies of my first bill, etc. and mailed it on June 13.

I called in Mid July because it had been over a month since I had sent the form in, but had not received my gift. I called again, on August 15, because I still had not yet received my gift.

In August, 2007, i was informed that the case had been "elevated" (not sure what that means, but I still don't have a POrtable DVD player.

I was however able to get a mailing address, to which i will write a scathing letter as soon as possible. perhaps even certified.

I am also planning to report this to the better business bureau.

I am truly sorry to hear this has happened to you. I can understand how frustrating it can be to receive a promise that isnt fulfilled in a timely manner.

Let me start by saying I am a customer installation support representative with DIRECTV. I handle this particular type of issue frequently and have some information that will prove helpful for you.

Part of why you can not reach BCK Communications is that, due to an unacceptably high rate of these kind of issues, DIRECTV has terminated our business relationship with this company effective January 2007.

The good news is that DIRECTV has stepped up to the plate and placed into effect special procedures and policies that will help you get all the offers presented to you by BCK Communications, as well as address any issues that still may remain unresolved.

Please contact DIRECTV Customer Service at your soonest possible opportunity at 1 (800) 531-5000 and ask about the fulfillment offers for your BCK Communications Gift with Purchase, so that we can get this taken care of for you.

Once again, I sincerely appologise for the frustration this has caused you, and thank you for choosing DIRECTV!

I tried calling the company responsible for the redemption gift.

every single number i found for any company with this name was
1) out of order/disconeected
2) voice system answers as Direct TV
or
3) a company not even named BCK (like they listed some other company'
s phone number under their name in listings.

When i talked to Direct TV they had no idea who this BCK was......
though they seem to be tied closely with DTV in advertsing i found online.....
no website though
and a name i foudn linked to the company is a dead end also.....

smells bad

I did the same thing, and it took me about 2-1/2 to 3 months before I received it. I had forgotten about it by that time. But I did get it. It's a cheapo, but it's nice none-the-less. Not really worth getting upset about though.
