Discount Global Travel pays their employees by a payroll service. These checks bounce constantly. All office employees have this problem. Checks range from $200.00 - $1,000. Even when employees are given "new" checks to cover the bounced checks, those also bounce.

DGT scam...news to me they provided other services...didn't get services I was originally sold

AUTHOR: Sue - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 04, 2007

Dear Joseph

While I was not an employee of DGT, I was a client. You put in your statement that DGT didn't go out of business until 6/06...any idea how come I couldn't reach them 5 years ago at the numbers they had provided to me when I did my original purchase with them then?

Also, you stated they had provided other services to clients for travel? I never received anything from them other than a loss of $5k.

If you have information of who I should contact, perhaps the owner, I would be very appreciative. Quite frankly, after a loss of $5k, no free trip as promised for purchasing the membership and no way to contact a person, I don't trust DGT to provide me with anything.

And if their idea of providing further service is thru Castaways Vacation Club (whom I am now receiving flyers from), who is trying to charge me more money, then forget it....I think I've lost enough on this venture already. All I want is my money back!

Wrong Judy

AUTHOR: Judy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 16, 2007

You have the wrong Judy. I am the Judy that worked full time Tuesday - Sunday. We were closed on Mondays. I was in the top 3 of the sales team. I actually (after 6 mos.) quit DGT after paycheck's kept bouncing. I was not the only one. It was happening to all sale associates. They did not want me to quit, I made them alot of money. Their is so much more to tell that went on, but you know what? I am done checking with this web site about DGT. I really don't care anymore what is said about whom. I will leave you with these last words: to jthe people who were scammed "GO GET EM"! And for those of you still supporting this company "SHAME ON YOU". The company is gone (or under another name) SO WHO REALLY CARES? All that should be cared about are these poor people who believed in this! SIGNED OFF

DGT was a good, reputable company to work for

AUTHOR: Jerry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 15, 2007

I was a client of DGT and like the service so much I went to work for them. None of the hourly employees even punched a time clock. Some of the employees milked this and stole from the company but most were loyal because they liked the owner and had worked their for years. When the company was struggling most of the employees understood.

The owner would lend any employee, any money, for any reason they asked. He was a great guy to work for. When the company finally went under most of the employees owed him - not the other way around.

Cleared checks

AUTHOR: Michele - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 06, 2007

When a company is struggling to survive payroll is the last thing that you want not to clear. Most of the over 100 employees understood and hoped that the company would return to profitability. It could have done without incompetent ingrates like Judy.

I was with the company for years and the only Judy I know of was a part timer who got fired from the Cleveland office for incompetence. If I remember right she asked for days off repeatedly cause she was always in crisis and Peder gave her all the time she needed. If this is that Judy then the company could have cut her pay and gave it to someone who actually did their job.

pay checks did bounce

AUTHOR: Judy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 05, 2007

I have never worked for a company before in my life that handed out bogus pay checks. The excuse they gave us was that the owner was changing banks and the funds weren't in the other account yet. Okay, well this kept happening time and time again. I still have my checks that did bounce. Even when they wrote us new ones those bounced too!! Only once in a while would a check clear. Grant it, yes all the checks did finally clear after a couple weeks of waiting and excuse after excuse. But, isnt it illegal to write out employee paychecks knowing they are going to bounce anyway? What kind of company does that? Its funny how the company was going down hill, and the owner took out loans to help DGT stay up and running. I find it hard to believe. Owning a big mansion to live in, nice vehicles, boats etc. I dont think you can blame this one on the economy!!

All payroll checks have cleared

AUTHOR: Joseph - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 05, 2007

DGT was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars after doing business for years. The owner borrowed more and more to keep the company afloat hoping to get through terrorist attacks on the US, the war, airline bankruptcies, auto company layoffs, the economy, etc.

After exhausting all options to keep hundreds of employees on payroll the company went under. All checks have been replaced and cleared. DGT went out of business in June of 2006 and gave clients an option for other discount travel services that would continue to service the client benefits. Again, all payroll checks have been replaced and cleared.
