Here we go again

On September 5 my mother received a phone call from Publishers Discount
Services. they stated that her enquirer subscription was about to expire in October and would like to renew her subscription. my mother the the rep no she did not want to renew. She gave them no checking account information. she didn't have to they had the account numbers from when they were operating as discount readers club. the telephone number that was on caller ID was 480-649-2621 the number that is on the fraudulent draft was 1-888-649-6080. the number for publishers discount services aka Discount readers club. I have called the publishers of the enquirer and was told that Publishers Discount Services was not an agent for the Enquirer.

on 9-7-07 my mothers checking account was drafted for 99.90.
I am in the process of calling the bank and disputing this transaction as fraudulent.

please beware if you receive a phone solicitation from either of these company's, Check your bank account. This company also is involved with a collection agency called galaxy credit (See ripoff reports on this co.) This collection agency called my mother and said they were from her local bank and that the refund that was received from Discount readers club was a mistake and they needed to take it out of her bank account. She gave them banking info and her account was drafted again for 149.76. I have filed a dispute with the bank and will be filing a separate ripoffreport on Galaxy Credit. This refund came from Bank of America and was the result of a month long investigation by Bank of America and First Federal of Charleston, my mothers local bank. This investigation concluded that her bank account was drafted without her permission and the original draft on 10-20-06 was fraudulent and not authorized. Tapes that discount readers club said they had do not exist.

Galaxy Credit is not a licensed collection agency in Arizona.
