the installer wrote down the code issued by dish network to turn on my box. after finishing installing my system he left and several months later I started getting billed for adult content movies that I did not order. When i contacted dn they were very inappropiate and accused me of ordering this garbage. I had one of their reps come by and look inside the menu of ordered adult movies and there were none. Dumfounded he tried to no avail and i was issued credit. anothother 4 mo later same thing. This time the bill was about $600.00. after fighting with them for almost 2 hours i just gave up and they ended up ruining my credit. How do I know this it was told to me by an exemployee of dn. The reason that I did not order these movies is because I have a mentally challenged son that can't watch these kind of movies. I consider myself well educated in electronics after working on them for 40 yrs. jim hollywood.

Mr Busa Dish network employee
How much are they paying you to contradict the experience that my family and I went through with your company. I believe that the amount of complaints against the company you are paid to protect and
lie about speaks for itself. Customers of Dish Network should be made aware of these and other type of practices that are giving your company a bad reputation. So go ahead and keep protecting the company yopu are being paid to protect and I have no more coments because it would be a waste of time and
i have better things to do.

What Dish just replied to you about is not 100% true and they know it. You can very easily clone a box. This is how "black boxes" are created. They take legit cards and clone them. This way you can sell the cards to people who will then have access to all the movie channels etc. If its an exact copy of a customers card you can most definately order PPV movies and it would charge the legit customer. This is why they tell you not to order PPV movies because it will be found out faster. How do I know this? Because when I ordered DN for myself quite a few years ago the person who installed it offered me a cloned card for $200.00 so I could pay for basic service and get all rest of the channels for free.
I have since looked it up to see if it was legit and sure enough you can buy them online. It appears it would only take someone about 10 min with a box to make a clone.
DN wont tell you this because they dont want to acknowledge that one of their installers could be doing this. Demand a new box from DN with a new card (if they still do the cards which I think they do. I know the other sat. company does.

Hello! My name is Dan Busa with DISH Network Customer Support. I read your post and would like to clear up some confusion, there is no code that authorizes PPV movies to be ordered they are authorized via the remote control online or via telephone. The system allows authorization to your receiver based on serial numbers which would prevent another person from being able to access your programming. The number that the installer wrote on the return box would most likely be a return authorization number that basically shows that a receiver was being returned under that transactional number. I am very interested in looking into this issue for you. Please E-mail me at daniel.busa@dishnetwork.com
