On May 9, I purchased DiskInternals Uneraser. The product claimed to recover files that were accidentally erased. During the demo, the product claims that you can see the files appearing and once you purchase then you will be able to actually recover the files. Once I
purchased the software, I was expecting my files to be operable; however over 80% of the files do not open at all.
When I contacted DiskInternals THE NEXT DAY for a refund this is what transpired (SEE BELOW). Not once did the vendor mention the return policy or even acknowledge that it was within the 30 day window. This vendor would have kept my money if I had not re-read the Plimus return policy which stated that "Refunds may be granted up to 30 days from purchase. and All Plimus Sellers (product and service providers) are required to provide full, unconditional refunds to Customers up to 30 days from the day of purchase"
If you are in a similar situation, Paypal will not be able to side with you in a claim dispute. You have to go directly to Plimus and get a refund. DiskInternals will jerk you around. You have 30 days to get your money back!! Here's the refund policy http://home.plimus.com/ecommerce/company/legal/refund-policy and you need to call (866) 312-7733
As you can see below, my conversations with Diskinternals got me NO WHERE. They were rude and clearly didn't care about customer service. Save yourself time and just call Plimus directly!!
05/14/2011 00:31 Vendor Reply to customer - Dont you think that the EULA youve
accepted does not matter at all? Add the copy of EULA when sending
request to PayPal.
05/13/2011 07:50 Customer Reply to the software vendor - Exactly. If you all dont
see it as a problem, then I think that is the problem within your organization. I will be sending this to Paypal and then to my credit card company and will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.
Please do not contact me anymore through here. I have submitted a claim
to Paypal and all further discussion will go through there. Thank you
05/13/2011 01:03 Vendor Reply to customer - This is the PROMISE. --- We do not think so.
05/11/2011 23:56 Customer Reply to the software vendor - DiskInternals Uneraser can
recover any deleted file, including documents, photos, mp3 and zip
files, or even folders and damaged disks. This is straight from your
website. http://www.diskinternals.com/
This is the PROMISE. Recovery means the file will be there and OPERABLE.
I have over 80% of word documents NOT opening! This means your product
did not hold up to its promise and I have taken a picture of the
screenshot on your companys page
05/11/2011 23:47 Vendor Reply to customer - Actually we did not promise anything,
did we? Can you provide the screenshot with the words we promise
captured from our site or our product to support@diskinternals.com ?
05/11/2011 06:44 Customer Product doesn't match expectations - he service was not working on line as promised. requesting a refund for the service.--

"DiskInternals Uneraser can recover any deleted file, including documents, photos, mp3 and zip files, or even folders and damaged disks. "
That's what it says on the website and it's a crock. There's no way it can recover files that have been written over, or files that reside on a physically damaged sector. Such pie-in-the-sky claims are ridiculous. They're selling software, not magic.
