I paid this company $399.00 for a Paramedic refresher course. This course is required by my state to renew my Paramedic license. Sadly I became sick and missed my renewal date. I did not attend any of these classes. I did not use any of the services this company offers. When I requested a refund I was promptly told that I was past the one week refund date. Essentially this company has reieved $399 for absolutely nothing.

Rob,

I am a bit confused you say we do not advertise our refund policy, distancecme.com/faqs/,

If you are not satisfied after your 1st class but with in 1 week of signing up for a program, send an email to Billing@distancecme.com and we will process a refund for 100% of your tuition subject to the user terms.

The user terms you agreed to when you signed up on 10/30/16.

Your first contact with us 10/10/2016 "

I need a paramedic refresher course for the state of Florida. I ned 30 hours with some peds. Can you tell me for sure Florida will accept this course, they sem to be picky. Currently working as a RN and my cme have not been counting. Do you report to CE Broker ??
to your request for a refund on 1/30/17
I signed up to take your Paramedic refresher course and never took a class. I became sick shortly after setting up and missed my December deadline. At this point I am working as a RN and may just let my paramedic go. The cost of maintaining it is close to $500 now.
Thank you for your time.

When we let you know it was well over the week as it was now 13 plus weeks past when you signed up we replied on 1/30/17 with
Rob,
Unfortunately your purchase on 10/30/16 is well beyond our refund policy. Your membership will remain active until 10/30/18.
Thank you,
Michael Jansen
Billing Department

Once again I am sorry you waited until the last month to maintain your Florida Paramedic Certification (which BTW looking at our Nov 2016 Calendar you could have gotten all of the education you needed with over 331 classes for 662 hours of education offered) I am also sorry that you contracted Pneumonia and were sick.

Our policy of a total refund has been in place since our inception in 2010 and we have issued a couple of dozen in the last 7 years, with over 11,000 providers using our service since 2010.

Sick for 3 months...

I had to renew my paramedic in florida, and had 35 days to do so because i put it off. My own fault. I found this company that offered the CME I needed, so I just went for it. Soon after I got pnumonia. Well over their week return policy before I could get online again. Even still I thought i could pay Florida their late fee and take these classes. Long story is I stil have not utilized this service that I paid for. I still have not recieved a refund. At this point it is all just a expensive lesson. One they didnt advertise. Guess I got schooled after all.

So no, I was not sick for three months. I just intended to try and utilize the service up until that point.

God Bless

Rob

Nae,

Your comment "Let the kid at least take your class so he comes back in the future and pays you another 399", you might have missed the last sentence in my reply "and he still has access to and can still take the over 300 classes offered per month until 12/2018, our policy is 2 years from purchase date or until completion of the course."  The Provider in question has until Dec 2018 to take classes, no noe has restricted his access nor has anyone removed him from the system, he can take classes with us until 12/2018.

Thank you,

Scott McConnell

I was looking for complaints on this company when I found this. I spoke to a lady in your office this week that was quite rude. Then I saw Scott's reaction to this post and thought his buisiness must be so great he is not worried about people coming back. EMTS and Paramedics have to renew the certs every few years. With being said regardless of a refund policy there is somthing called crap happens in life. Let the kid at least take your class so he comes back in the future and pays you another 399. I am guessing you lost his future buisiness and other people he knows. In this day and age with Social Media no company is too good you will lose customers. I am on the fence as to if I will come back in two years and pay this company $399, and if I don't I will gladly tell my many cohorts in the field why.

The student signed up for a live paramedic refresher. On our website the refund policy is clear, no questions asked 100% refund if you request it during the first week. This student waited 3 months. We are sorry he was sick (for 3 months?) but unfortunately our policy is clear. The student did not pay for "absolutely nothing" he paid for a live 48hr paramedic refresher and he still has access to and can still take the over 300 classes offered per month until 12/2018, our policy is 2 years from purchase date or until completion of the course.
