I've saved everything from the 1st email to the last. I went on LinkedIn to see about finding DJ Akademiks for promotions. I located what appeared to be official looking enough. Alot of professionals attempt to set up their own LinkedIn page only to lose passwords or not fully complete said profile.

Point being, A beautifully put together LinkedIn page is no guarantee that ones professional practices are being handled officially and efficiently. With that said. I prepared Instagram post material to be included on his feed (a following of approx 4.3M).

Originally after a few failed attempts at processing payment and post scheduling issues, I was refunded my first try at paying $1100 for iniially 1 permanant post on his Ig page.

I wasn't going to pursue advertising with his camp until much later when my positioning in the industry became a little more sure footed. But every day after the refund , someone portraying him was constantly Instant messaging me on LinkedIn and Emailing me about trying to promote through their channel one more time.

I was very skeptical but I rationalized "hey he's got to be real, look at the gold star endorsement on LinkedIn! "hey how does such a prominent hip hop gossip columist and bubble gum rapper amass a fake following of  LinkedIn professionals in the hundreds and not be real"?

I was offered 2 posts for the $1100 total. Payable thru Paypal or CashApp. PayPal : Eyirea Ollingsworth or CashApp: $Thall0805 After receiving a bunch of harrasing emotional emails from whoever this was, He or She calmed down and began to send me screenshots of alleged Akademik social media posting feed.

I reasoned, LinkedIn certainly vets media professionals and entertainment professional profiles to avoid abuses. I went with the CashApp route and even included in the memo the purpose for the payments.  The 1st being $800 and the 2nd totalling $300. Whoever this was behaved impatiently rushing me to make payment assuring me that my post would appear within 30 minutes of my payment.

Well after 2hrs, it became clear I had been duped. I was blocked from communicated with his Instagram accounts, his LinkedIn accounts, no one in his camp would respond to emails or tweets sent. I have saved all emails, LinkedIn messages, screen shotted payments.

If the real Akademiks sees this, let's just straighten it up. Help make it right. Let's secure your account on LinkedIn so this never ever happens again to any recording artist.
