Dr. Moelleken put Livefill in my cheeks in March 2004. It lasted about five months. His website claims you will not lose it, and that overfilling is not needed. These are fat pearls from your abdomen. Every doctor I had asked later about this said that claim in unrealistic. The upper bleph work he did was the older style "remove fat and tissue" approach", which left my eyes, especially my right, very hollowed. I since have had reconstruction work to correct this, and have had permanent fillers put into my face from outside the U.S.

I also was the victim of the doctor's exaggerated claims

Dr. Brent Moelleken put livefill in my face.  Sadly, I found I have had to supplement it many time with fillers such as restalyne and perlayne, beginning with just a few months after receiving the livefill!  Also I was left with scars in the corners of my eyes which was one of the locations of the livefill.  I asked the doctor about this and he said it was redness that would go away.  Now three years later the scars have not gone away but the livefill has!

He performed  a few other more involved procedures which were highly unsatisfactory-- which was a big dissapointment after suffering the pain and discomfort and expense of those procedures.  But now that I have discovered this site I will file a separate rip off report for those other issues.

I would obviously never reccommend Dr. Moelleken.

TWO THUMBS UP DR. BRENT!!!

TWO THUMBS UP DR. BRENT!, April 15, 2011, 2:11 pm

Reviewer: daisygirl71

I had my consult with Dr. Brent a few months ago, and let me tell you...he gets 2 thumbs up in my book. I have had 8 consultations with various plastic surgeons to date, and although many of the surgeons that I discussed my procedures with were quite qualified and capable to complete the task at hand, none of them compared to Dr. Brent. He sets the bar high for excellence as evidenced by his commitment to his education, career and patient care and holds to a stict patient safety first mentality, which most slicer and dicer's tend to minimize. I for one am grateful for a surgeon that won't compromise my health and safety just to try to save me a buck! Especially if that means I may not survive long enough to spend it!!! I've read a few negative reviews about Dr. Brent that simply do not describe him accurately. I know that we all have our own opinions and preferences regarding the people that we encounter in life, but if someone is going to post a positive or negative review about a professional, they should have the decency to do so in an articulate and respectful way. Dr. Brent was extremely courteous and attentive during my consult, and listened intently to the concerns that I am having about my physical appearance. He was absolutely thorough in his explanations and wanted to be sure that I understood the procedure and expectations. In other words, he kept it real. He was neither arrogant or an ego maniac! Just the real-deal, genuine article. On the contrary, Dr. Brent is simply confident and excited that he has the knowledge, experience and credentials to help us feel better about ourselves! And I for one would prefer a surgeon that illuminates that kind of positive energy and love for his job over someone that cares nothing about my case, but simply wants to take my money and move me along. Yes, Dr. Brent is priced a little bit higher than most, research and consults will tell you that (10-20% on average), but just remember folks, you get what you pay for! He only knocks you out with a Board Certified MD and makes sure that you've been medically cleared for surgery before proceeding. I had a breast augmentation done in 2000 and was never even told that I had to be medically cleared for surgery before going under the knife, didn't even take a blood test....SCARY! Thank God nothing went wrong, but in retrospect...WOW, that's exactly what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I am a research nut and I am telling you with absolute certainty that you are not only in safe hands with Dr. Brent, but you're going to love the results! I know I will in the next month or two! Guess yawl will just have to tune in for my after-review :)

Realistic expectations

AUTHOR: Dr. moelleken - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 07, 2010

Hello Edward,

I'm sorry you were unhappy with your LiveFill.

As stated in our website, LiveFill grafts are biologic grafts, and there is a possibility they may not take.  They are actually composed of fat and fascia, not just fat.  They are atraumatically harvested, not aspirated like fat injections, so the rate of survival is higher in our published series than that of fat injections.

The rate of nontake in our series of more than 500 cases is very low, around 3%.  We have presented our results at the ASAPS, ASPS and published them in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and in a book chapter in Mathes Plastic Surgery.

I expect we did not fulfill your expectations of filling out all the hollowness that you had, and for that I am sorry.

In your case, you had had five failed surgeries including four sessions of fat injections with other doctors, all of which failed.  We discussed going in that your case would be a challenge.

The upper blepharoplasty you had was revisional in nature, and did not involve any removal of fat.  It was a revision of a previous failed upper blepharoplasty performed elsewhere.

I notice that you had had permanent non-approved filler from outside the country placed.  A good bit of our practice is devoted to removing permanent fillers and complications from permanent fillers, so I hope you have fared better with yours.

If you would consent, perhaps you would consider having your before-after pictures posted?  The ones we have do demonstrate an improvement over your preoperative appearance.

Dr. Moelleken
