I had a major landscaping project designed by someone recommended by Driscoll Landscaping. Beautiful plans. However, project encountered some problems along the way that were blamed on the designer. I was told by Joseph T. Driscoll that they were doing the best they could since they essentially had inaccurate plans.

Stairs were not square to house. Driscoll said my house was "out of square" but he'd be more than willing to come back and create the "illusion" of squareness. Then had the nerve to ask for additional payment.

Walls didn't meet foundation where they were supposed to, according to the designed plans. Driscoll said this was because the plans were wrong.

Design plans were reviewed at a later date by the designer and myself and were found to be correct. Driscoll recounted several conversations he had with designer about our issues, however designer denied these conversations ever took place.

Individual stair tread heights were inconsistent, resulting in "trip stairs". Numerous delays. Hit my water main twice. Damaged gutter over garage. Left trash on site daily.

Bottom line: Driscoll botched project, then tried to cover his "you know what" by outright lying to me and my wife. Blaming it on the designer. Telling me about conversations that never took place. Insisting that stairs were square when they CLEARLY were not. (I'm I design engineer, do you think I know what square means?)Very, very poor excuse for a landscaper!

Happy with Driscoll Landscaping

In the summer of 2008, I was looking for a landscaper to completely re-do our entire back yard. We wanted a pool with widespread landscaping, and knew we needed an extensive retaining wall system to make this happen. After searching the internet and making phone calls, I found Joe Driscoll. He was local, and had a good word of mouth reputation after asking around a bit at the local building supply outlets in town. I will say that I did see this negative review on this site during my initial search, but since it was the only one I could find, I chalked it up to one disgruntled customer and figured why not talk to Joe. Initially on the phone I told Joe basically what my wife and I were interested in doing. Within a few days, Joe was at my house with an architect and pool builder in tow! Joe and the others assessed the situation and within 3 weeks we had a set of plans, a plan of attack, and estimates all around. During the planning phases, I did ask Joe about this negative review. His explanation of the situation was more than adequate for us to go ahead and use Driscoll Landscaping. He explained the pitfalls of what we were going to do and told us that sometimes things have to be modified on the fly with a project as big as ours. Joe and his crew built nearly 1000 square feet of Versa Lok walls on my property. In over 20 feet of grade difference in my yard, Joe was right on the mark with the walls when he finished. Each step, 12 in all, were on the mark as well. He also installed paver walkways and new planting beds.

 

In the spring/summer of 2009, I had Joe return to re-do the front and both side yards. He completely re-landscaped the front yard, built a few more walls, made more planting beds, installed paver walkways, stone steps, put in over 250 plants and shrubs, irrigation, extensive landscape lighting, and sod. We even had him put in 800 sq ft of pavers for our pool deck. Having Driscoll Landscaping return after the initial job should indicate how happy we were with the work. His company has done thousands of dollars worth of work for us. We are very proud of the work he has done and would recommend him to anyone needing landscaping. In fact, the summer of 2010 will be the third year that we will again use Driscoll Landscaping.

We have been a customer of Driscoll Landscaping for over eight years.  During that time, we have been more than impressed with the level of service, quality of work and attention to detail provided by this company.

Driscoll Landscaping has installed walls, built a gorgeous patio and walkway, and completed several other landscaping-related projects for us over the years.  Each project completed on time, within budget and more than exceeded our expectations.

We have used Driscoll Landscaping's services for over eight years and have always been more than impressed with the quality of work they have done at our home.  We have had walls built, a patio beautifully installed and other various landscaping projects throughout the years.

The attention to detail on Driscoll's projects has always exceeded our expectations as has the level of professionalism by the owner and staff, timeliness of work, fabulous designs and customer service.

I highly recommend Driscoll Landscaping for any landscape design project.  Top quality.

Driscoll first admitted liability for deficiencies in project in late 2005 and committed to correct them in early 2006. In the fall of 2006, Driscoll abandoned project, blaming consumer. Subsequent inspection of Driscoll Landscaping construction indicated failure to follow recommended Versa-Lok design guidelines, i.e. lack of sufficient drainage, lack of wall embedment. This was in addition to stair ways built IN VIOLATION OF BUILDING CODES.
