In September of 2006 I responded to an offer by Eproauction for a possible internet business.

Terms were: I pay for $1.95 S&H with my credit card, and evaluate the program for 14 days, and, if not canceled during this time, I would be charged $49.95 a month.

I never got to check out their program, because I was waiting to receive the info in the mail or on the internet.

When I called them on September 26 to talk with them about NOT receiving anything and to cancel, the CSR told me that I had called too late to cancel the program and that they had charged my MasterCard $49.95.

I protested, but they responded that they could NOT refund the charge. However, what they could do was to offer me a free month of their service.

My response was to explain that I am disabled and could not afford the $49.95 per month, and that I was NOT interested in a free month. I just wanted them to cancel, even if I could not get a refund.

The CSR led me to believe that she would cancel my account, but did NOT give me a cancellation number (as they now said they needed to have)!

I checked my bank statement in October and found no charge from Eproauction. Case closed--RIGHT?!! That's what I expected, and therefore didn't continue to monitor my later statements for a re-occurrence of the $49.95.

Since I went through a period of great stress, I did not pay close attention to the next bank statements, until I was notified that my account was overdrawn, and I had been charged a $29 fee.

In response I contacted Eproauction, and asked for a refund of $199.80, stemming from the FOUR $49.95 monthly charges November 2006 through February 2007, conceding the first monthly charge on September 2006 (which I probably should NOT have)!

I was told that my account was still open, and therefore these four monthly charges were legimate and could NOT be refunded.

I argued with CSR for almost half an hour and finally asked to talk to a supervisor. She told me that he was busy with another call. I offered to wait, but NO result. After another "broken record" response of about ten minutes, I INSISTED to be connected to the supervisor.

Finally, supervisor JM, answered and offered to cancel my account--WITHOUT refund, of course. He gave me a cancellation # 1296427 on my acct.#259107.

He refused to give me their physical address, stating that I could get that from the internet, and told me that he also could not give me the name of the CSR, who had recorded the notes falsely, stating that I had accepted the free month, because she was no longer with the company.
