Eagle Carports - USA Steel Buildings WARRANTY COMPLIANCE > POOR!!! Cana Virginia

To make a long story short, we purchased the building from J.C.'s Carports and Garages in Deland in October, 2008 of which we filed a separate Report. From our understanding, the garage we were going to have built, was to be constructed by locals as he kept referring to them as "my crew". We didn't know this, but found out after the fact, that he orders the buildings from out of state, Eagle Carports aka USA Steel Buildings, Inc. He took our deposit, and never, ever followed up with us after numerous calls and messages left.

A crew of illegal Mexicans (they told my husband in Spanish they were) constructed the building in October, 2009 only to find that the building was not constructed according to Florida Code (wind resistance). After much going back and forth, Eagle Carports had to come back down here, tear down the building, and then came back at a later date in November, 2008 to construct the new building which is according to Florida code (we hope).

We are still under warranty, and are having numerous problems with this building (leaks and a bad garage door). Calls to J.C. Carports in Deland have gone unanswered. Attempts to arrange Eagle Carports to come down here to repair the leaks, and replace the garage door has been futile. They keep saying they are going to do it, but keep putting us off. As of last week, they were supposed to come "Thurs. or Fri." per Katasha. Never heard from them. I called today, and she seemed annoyed stating we would have a date today. Asked her about what happened to Thurs./Fri. and she said those dates were "tentative." First, we heard about it being "tentative".

We paid about $10,000 for this building. Included in that price was supposed to be a Building Permit with our City however I never saw one. I was in and out a lot during the construction, but never saw an Inspector, etc. Just assumed all was fine. My personal opinion is they did not take out a permit.
