This company, Eastside Tree removed 2 trees on my property and my neighbors. The second tree, on my property, they did not get my approval. Both trees fell on my yard and damaged landscaping. In addition, they knocked out my Comcast cable. This cable is my business. Rather than try and work with me, they threatened me for my cutting down 2 bushes on my prtoperty. I sent a letter to them stating that I never want to see them on my property again.

Final Response

AUTHOR: MRengo - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 17, 2011

Once again, the tree industry is a dangerous industry. We have had several injuries to our work force, but very little considering our production, duration of business, and amount of employees. Nobody was "almost sucked into a chipper". (both ludicrous and irrelevant) The climber who fell has been back at work for quite a while now, and due to his experience and expertise, is one of our prized employees once again. Feel free to list more, as there has been none. You seem very much informed, and really must have done your homework for these attacks. I hope that this shows actual customers, that you clearly have a personal vendetta, and are definitely not a customer of ours. As for the license bonded and insured; there are MANY tree services who have none of those requirements. What sets us apart is how we treat our customers! This is how we continue to be successful, and we very much care about each and every one. We encourage everyone to go ahead and look for this information apparently "found on the web", as only the unfortunate incident disclosed previously will be found. I am saddened and sickened you are taking the death of a great man, and turning it into fodder for your competitive and pointless attacks. Someone who has deliberately targeted our company, not just an outside observer. If that were the case, why us? There are hundreds of tree services in Western Washington - many with more accidents and complaints than we have - so why attack us? What did we do to you to cause such a deliberate attack, and how can I fix it?

I am not going to continue gratifying your attempt to attack our company for no reason, by continuing to respond to these pointless accusations (as this will apparently not fix it). You are the ugly side of this business, not us. We take very good care of our customers and employees (now being the only tree service that offers full medical, dental, and vision benefits), and THAT is something you can find all over the internet. Again, we can provide proof to anyone interested in tree work, that these accusations are clearly slanderous and never in reference to actual work performed. Judging by the nature of your response, I believe our potential customers will see your attacks for what they truly are.

False and slander

It seems nowhere in your rebuttal does it say that you haven't had numerous injuries, lets try, worker almost being sucked into chipper, tree climber repelling out of his own rope and now can't climb anymore as a result, and then the fatality, should I list more? Also, were all consumers, as I'm sure you have done something for work other than this.....As far as a competitor, no. Outside observer, yes. Everyone that's licensed and bonded that owns a tree service is insured for 2million, so that isn't something to look at as something that sets you apart now is it. False slanderous information is what you called it, all of the above is able to befound on the web....they're what a person trying to cover their own a*s calls facts.

Resolved

AUTHOR: MRengo - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 14, 2011

The issue with the tree and cable has since been resolved with the customer.

As for the additional comments from the "consumer" M.W. Haagen. You are obviously a competitor attempting to skew and slander your competition with completely false information. The very epitome of poor business practice. You are not a consumer, and have not claimed that we have performed work for you. This appears an attempt to offset our many positive (and verified) reviews online. We at Eastside Tree Works, work very hard to make sure all of our customers are happy. To have false slander like this, is very frustrating - as it appears anyone (regardless of being an actual consumer or customer of a company) can get on here and bash any company. We encourage all of our potential customers, to visit other, verified testimonials from ACTUAL customers (http://www.customerlobby.com/reviews/552/eastside-tree-works/). Or to visit our website for many other pages with verified reviews. We can also provide potential customers with all insurance, bond, and L & I registration - and can answer any concerns that may arise on account of this false statement. We urge this competitor to provide proof of anything he has been slandering us about - as it is all completely false.

The tree industry is full of tax-dodgers, L & I fraud, accidents, and many other such negative associations (a perfect example is the statement posted for which prompted this response). We have always strived to be the company that fights these negative impressions by providing things that no other tree service can provide, both in our legitimacy, and how we take care of our employees. We maintain a perfect record with all taxes and L & I, and are licensed bonded and insured to 2million. Feel free to look up our L and I status at the WA state L and I website, which includes complaints or lawsuits associated with our company. You can also see our record with the BBB, for which we have an A rating. If any of these accusations were true, they would appear in other places than from the text of a slandering competitor.

We are not a perfect company, and are in a state of continuous improvement. We did have an unfortunate accident with one of our crew members, but it was an isolated incident and has since been resolved with all parties involved, including the L & I investigation. The tree service is a very dangerous industry, and accidents do happen. No negligence or major safety procedures were broken, and as a company we have learned from any mistakes - The accident has brought about growth in a very positive, and safety oriented way. Not only this, but we have NEVER received a complaint from a customer, or even a neighbor of a customer, complaining of unsafe practices on the job.

We assure all real consumers out there, that this information is otherwise FALSE, and would be more than happy to provide proof that ALL of these accusations are completely and totally untrue. We do alot of work on the Eastside, and can also provide testimonials from neighbors in your area upon request, if you want to get a real grasp for the kind of service we provide. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Who would want to hire them anyway!!!

Eastside Tree Works as I noticed sits in neighborhoods on Sunday's and either hands out their flyers or door knocks....I passed by the van with their markings on it, sitting on a corner. I myself cannot nelieve that this company is still in business. They have had numerous on the job injuries including a fatality, all of which could've been avoided. I climb trees and when I am in the tree it is MY responsibility of what the ground crew is doing below me whether my saw runs out of gas on the back cut or not......as far as soliciting your business....do it on normal business days, Mon through Sat....also something to keep in mind if they wanted your services don't you think they might call you or seek you out, but with the above said I know I wouldn't!! I think if i killed someone on my job I'd probably bow out of business, as far as I've heard your type of work is hack and shoddy at best and this is coming from customers mouths, also do you charge sales tax or is tax evasion another one of your expertises, something I heard you do not do, again from another customer. You might have repeat business cause of your rock bottom prices but whose to say someone might die or the customers property won't get damaged.
