I have been ripped of by sellers on ebay multpile times and am canceling my account. Movies bought are illegal pirated copies most of the time, and 4 out of the last 7 items were not even recieved, but were charged for.

Complaints lodged through the dispute center yield NOTHING. Not even a response.

Sellers frequently have multiple negative feedbacks (member "sherriw325" who has 6 negative feedbacks in the last 6 months, 5 of which are for charging for items, but NOT shipping them).

Ebay will not respond to complaints or help resolve. Why do they allow a seller who is obvioulsy a thief use their service?!?!

Don't treat Ebay the same as you would a store. Treat Ebay like it is, that you're buying from an unknown person.

In your instance, when buying a DVD, you should consider that you're buying it from a guy in a trenchcoat on the streets of NYC.

The problem that you're having is that Ebay basically has a $25 deductible, for lack of a better term. Many people can screw people over for dollar amounts under $25. But it's hardly worth it. Now, that being said, they will generally keep your money, but by filing an item not received claim, if enough people do, Ebay will NARU them.

Funny thing is, that everyone who has complained about this person recently complained about the exact same item. Also notice the item number that you bid on, if you look it up, someone has screwed around with the image linking, probably the legitimate owner of the website where the images are hosted.

Paypal does not have the monetary limits.. If you paid through PP, then I would attempt going through them for a refund as well. They will generally side with the buyer unless the seller can show proof of delivery. That doesn't mean you'll get your money back, but it's worth a shot.

Long and short, you did nothing wrong in this situation. Person had a pretty good feedback ratio when you made the bid. Most Ebayers are honest folk, but the dishonest work alot harder to scam people.
