"It is well known that it's not difficult for an internet business to deceive people."

eBid is an internet auction site that purports to compete with eBay. When I cancelled my premium sellers account, eBid's interface gives the impression that you have cancelled your premium seller subscription and no further charges will be made to your credit card account. However, they did make further charges to my account. When I contacted them about this they kept the money and sent me an email telling me my account subscription is now cancelled. I'm a 15 year internet veteran and quite familiar with internet subscriptions with internet based companies. The legitimate companies will refund the money if you made a mistake, were confused, or if their interface was unclear. In any event, when no goods or services were used, the customer has not received any benefit, and the company is not out any money, the legitimate thing to do is to refund the money and move on.

Of course, it's only the ones who are leaving that get taken with this particular scam." Like I said at the beginning, "It is well known that it's not difficult for an internet business to deceive people." They will have full knowledge of how many people, by the statistics, are 'mistaken' and get charged by "mistake" but they have chosen to continue the practice. eBid's interface was deliberately designed to deceive, if it wasn't so, I would have known the subscription would continue charging my credit card - without any benefit to me. They would also provide an opportunity to cancel the subscription in the "Subscriptions" section of the user's account. They also would have refunded the money for a service that I never received.

By the way, despite extra low pricing, I only sold to a couple of scammers. eBid makes it very difficult to receive a credit on seller fees. You have to keep going back to your account and sending the known fraudster notices to pay. Only after jumping through numerous hoops are your fees refunded. On the last fraudulent sale I made, I just gave up and paid the fees. Nobody is selling much of anything on eBid.

Save yourself the time and aggravation and stay away from eBid. Maybe someday eBid will work the way it's supposed to. When/if that ever happens, you'll hear about it, and so will I. But for now, eBid is just a waste of time, - at best.
