EDP Cards, Acclaim Visa unauthorized charges to bank account $159.95 Ripoff Internet

I was charged $159.95 for EDP cards on 7/28/06 in the form of a check that I did not authorize. The check is all typed and has the correct name and address in the upper left corner. My bank name is typed in the center of the check. The signature line is filled with the words PRE-AUTHORIZED CHECK with no signature required below it. In the memo there is an order number, comfirmation number, and a toll free number for Acclaim Visa.

Upon calling the 1-800 number I got a recording that they are available 9-5 Pacific Standard time and to e-mail them at www.edpreporting.com for the best service.

In the meantime,I have called my bank. They are investigating and will be in touch with me later this afternoon.

I am hopeful, yet by the sound of the bank manager, still pretty sure I have a long fight ahead of me.

I have read many reports on here regarding similar situations. It is a shame that this is happening to innocent people. I strongly believe that this sort of thing needs to be stopped. It's terrible that using the Internet in your home is no safer than walking down a dark alley, alone at night, because you must always be looking for the nighttime stalker who is savvy in the ways to rob you.

I know that this company will get what is coming to them, I just hope it is soon. It is a crime to steal, if I stole from them, you better believe they would prosecute me, however, unfortunately, they are allowed to run and hide in the shadows of the corporate world and we are but little mice with little strength in that world. I'll just say this to anyone who works for them or corrupt people like them...remember Enron...what goes around comes around, it's just a matter of time.
