On March 2, my car broke down. I needed a tow, so I called Emergency Roadside Assistance and Towing, in Parkland, Washington. When they lifted my car, they unknowingly cracked my oil pan. This was discovered the next day by a mechanic. I called and told the tow company about it. They said they would send someone out to look at it on March 5…nobody came.
I called them back and they told me they would send someone out on March 6…nobody came. When I called to follow up, they refused to return my calls. I had my car towed to the Audi dealership to have it repaired. Audi called Emergency Roadside Assistance and Towing and also has not received a call back. The cost to repair the damage they did was $800.
I am a 21-year-old college student trying to finish my degree on my own. I don’t have this kind of expendable funds. In order to pay for this damage, I missed my rent payment and was late on other bills. I had to borrow money from my friends (who really can’t afford to loan me money) to get caught up. Luckily, my landlord accepted my 2-week late payment and didn’t evict me.
Now I’m scrambling to save enough for my next month’s rent in 2 weeks. I need my car for my job. When I am not going to classes, I drive for Uber Eats. So when my car is down, I can’t work. I need to work to pay for college. Emergency Roadside Assistance and Towing has been absolutely horrible to work with. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Otherwise, they will damage your vehicle, take no responsibility for it, and you will be out hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. Use one of the many other tow companies for your towing needs. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH EMERGENCY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND TOWING!!!!!!

Robert,
If you know anything about renting, there is typically a 5 day grace period for rent to be paid. As a full-time college student trying to get through college, I basically live day-to-day. I don't have the luxury of having scholarships or anyone to pay my bills. So when I am not in class, doing homework, or working on school projects, I work to pay my bills. Most often it comes to the last day to pay bills before I have the money to do so. It is not unusual for me to pay my rent during this grace period. The added expense of this repair caused me to be 2 weeks late.
To your second point, I am meticulous with my car. I keep my car cleaner than my apartment. I don't have very many possessions, so I take very good care of the ones I have...especially my car. My car is very important to me because it allows me to work. Without my car, I cannot work. That being said, my car did not have any kind of oil leak prior to the tow. My car broke down due to the slave cylinder going out, which made it so my car wouldn't shift.
This has nothing to do with the oil pan. The mechanic was a mobile mechanic that came to my apartment to try to help with the slave cylinder. That is when the cracked oil pan was discovered by both me and the mechanic. The mechanic couldn't fix the slave cylinder, so I had the car towed to an Audi dealership in Tacoma. They quoted me around $1500 to fix the oil pan. Obviously, I don't have that kind of money. Luckily, I am involved with many car clubs around the Seattle/Tacoma area and know some mechanics. One of the guys that I know from a car club is a mechanic that works on Audi's. He was able to get job done for about $800, which I had to borrow money to get fixed. Throughout all this time, I could not work.
I wouldn't have been so upset if the tow company would have just stepped up and did the right thing. Not only did they not do that, they haven't even responded to any of my phone calls. The Audi dealer even tried calling the tow company to explain what they found, and they didn't return their call either. This just shows the type of tow company this is...one that doesn't care about quality or their customers. This is why I do not recommend anyone using this tow company.
It may just be my perception, but you seem more interested in trying to discredit me than a typical "consumer" might comment on my situation. If you actually work for this company, I would appreciate it if you just called me to take care of this the right way.

However, you seem to be leaving a few details out.
Such as if your car needed to be towed on the 2nd, how exactly did that affect your rent payment? As rent is generally due on the 1st and would have already been late.
Then what proof do you have that the tow company damaged the oil pan? For all you know the mechanic is the one who damaged it and is just trying to pass off the blame. It could have been damaged well before your car was even towed. In fact that could have been the reason the car needed a tow in the first place.
What was the actual reason it was towed, and what else was repaired?
