These breeders are horrible and exploit animals and keep breeding their stock eventhough their dogs produce puppies that have cancer, hip dysplasia and epilepsy! Don't buy from these breeders! You will end up with a sick dog like the people that have contacted us! They have two sites.... www.Endevourgoldens.com and www.Absolutegoldens.com

You keep filing vague reports (sometimes not even making much sense to be honest) on Golden breeder's but don't seem to have any actual dealings with them and don't seem to have purchased a puppy from any Would you happen to breed Golden Retriever's?

Another Unethical Breeder Responds

I am the other breeder targeted by "Mona"...whoever she is. I have never been contacted by anyone claiming that a puppy I had bred had developed epilepsy much less epilepsy AND hip dysplasia AND cancer.
I have not had a litter in over 5 years now and do not have any currently planned. So much for the implied accusation that I am pumping out puppies! I actually bought my last puppy (although she was sired by a dog that I had bred and whelped).
As for cancer, breed statistics show that nearly 2/3 of all goldens will eventually die of cancer. I would say beware of a breeder who tells you that they have never had it. I would suggest that people who contact a breeder should be asking about the types and age of onset of cancer in the dogs chosen by the breeder for that particular breeding.
The statistics from OFA (Orthapedic Foundation for Animals) indicate that at least 20% of Golden Retrievers have some degree of hip dysplasia. I suspect the number is actually higher as most people do not pay the money to send in obviously non-passing x-rays. The question you should ask any breeder is how do they compare to the breed average and what do they do if a puppy develops hip dysplasia? The statistics for dogs I have produces are significantly better than the breed average and I have honored contracts in the cases where a puppy has been dysplastic.
I have NEVER produced a dog with epilepsy although it is certainly a problem in the breed. Breeding is still an imperfect art. While we try to stack the genetic deck, there is no guarentee that every breeding will produce 100% perfect puppies. So could I, at some time, produce a dog with epilepsy? I certainly am doing all that I can to avoid the problem...but it could happen.
I would suggest that people who are looking for a puppy visit the GRCA's web site at www.grca.org and check out the links particularly the one on aquiring a puppy. If they are still interested in getting a golden retriever then they should spend a considerable amount of time screening breeders and asking questions and then choosing some one that they are comfortable with.

I am very curious as to the source of this report. Not only have I never abused an animal-people have returned to me for more than one puppy, many years later. I do not know who this person is, but if they have been "contacted" by people who have my puppies, then those people have not contacted me.I guarantee my puppies-why would they not contact me for a replacement or a refund? Exploitation? My dogs live in my home and eat the finest foods. Furthermore, I have not bred a litter in two years and only have five dogs, one of which I consider breedable at the present time. Absolut Goldens has not bred a litter in 5 years! Where are all these defective puppies coming from?
All people should understand that most Goldens eventually die of cancer sooner or later. I have not bred an individual with epilepsy, EVER. Genetics is a difficult thing to predict and it is a fact that approximately 25% of all Goldens exhibit hip dysplasia. I am very up front about clearances and I do considerable research before I breed. A vet once said to me that all breeders produce problems if they breed for many years.
I am proud of my reputation and the person who initiated this report has few specifics. This is libel.
