EOS CCA bogus collection letter Norwell, Massachusetts

I received a collection letter for my final bill from CenturyLink, which is not even due yet!!  I called them to question it, I was told that the internet company can't process final payments since I closed my account.  They wanted to charge me a $15 processing fee.  I told them that's ridiculous, it's not my fault the internet company can't process my payment.  She then came back and said she can go down to 50% of the processing fees.  I told her that I would call the internet company myself.  I was able to process my payment with CenturyLink over the phone, with no processing fees. Now I am curious if this will show up on my credit report.
