Equity Residential Properties/ LOFTON PLACE APARTMENTS NEVER EXTERMINATED WASP AND ANTS ALSO PUT A FLOOD CLAIM IN ON OUR RENTERS INSURANCE AND NEVER FIXED OUR UNIT Tampa Florida

We moved into Lofton Place Oct 2007. It seemed like a great place to live and the unit they showed us looked great. We did our walk thru on the apartment and came back with some minor things that need to be fixed. I turned the walk thru in and the maintenance came in fixed a light bulb and said he had to order parts for the rest. Those part never came and the maintenace guy never fixed them.

We had a swarm of Red Wasp that lived outside of our door. We lived on the second floor and or railings were made of wood that was rotting. The wasp lived inside the rotting wood. My youngest daughter is allergic to bug bites. She get big hard lumps from being bitten by mosquitoes so image what would happen if she was stung by a wasp. I reported the wasp problem at least 5 time and the assured me that it would be taken care of and till this day they are still there. We had to run up and down the stairs to avoid being stung by them.

Then my washer machine flooded the apartment but we had renters insurance. The water flooded all the dinning room, kitchen, guest bathroom, entry was to bedroom 1 and 2 and part of the livingroom. We were left in the apartment with soggy mildew carpet for 2 day..and then another 2 days with a floor drying fan. After that someone came and replaced the padding and left the carpet. They never shampooed the carpet or anything. The carpet from then on had a wierd smell to it and the nails that held it down were exposed. This was reported to them but nothing was ever done about it. They put in a claim for the flood and fixed the unit under us but never fixed ours. There was water damage all along the floor board and on the tile in the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry cabinet. There was mold and mildew in all those place and it was never repaired.

After the flood came the ants. We had ants everywhere!! In the Kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms..everywhere!! Reported this issue and just like the wasp it fell on deaf ears. We moved out a month and a half early because two of my where getting this upper respitory condition that we couldnt get rid of. We left for vacation and put in our notice and like magic their conditon went away but a couple days after we got back it came back. Now Lofton place wants us to pay for that but we refuse. We are in the process of calling our renter insurance company to see if they claimed to repair our unit or not. We refused to pay after everything we've been through.
