Salesman called me repeatedly to list my timeshare with him. He insisted he had buyers ready and waiting to buy on the disneyworld location in Orlando, Florida. He assured me over and over again that he was honest and honorable and would definitly sell our timeshare. (He was aware of previously bad experiences we have had with timeshare sales companies). My husband is recovering from cancer (lung removed) and we can no longer travel. Obviously we can no longer benefit from the timeshare we own and really must sell it. Immedialy after receiving a contract to sign (which we have not done) I tried to contact "Darryl Magette" to explain our need to have something more than his word (ie:advertising). I telephoned and sent numerous emails without response. My emails were returmed....address unknown. I requested in one email that our $299.00 be returned to our MasterCard, because we no longer wished to sell it. No response.
I have sent a letter thru the post office requesting an immediate refund and told them again we no longer wished to sell. This company is as dishonest as all the rest who persevere in an attempt to collect money and do nothing else. It seems to me that there are no honest timeshare resale people left anywhere.

Timeshare resale rip off by Escape to Paradise

I to was taken in by Escape to Paradise Timeshare resale in March of 2008, I paid them $399 to sell my World Mark Timeshare, I to have not heard word one from them since. Now I am receiving calls from 5 Star Resorts in Carlsbad Calif., offering to sell my timeshare for $32,000, plus rent my points for $5,000, saying that big companies purchase these for their employees to use. Other than a different name and location the contract for these two timeshare resale places looks a lot alike. I had a fast talking Rev. Benjaman Graham trying to talk me into letting him sell my timeshare. 5 Star Resorts and Rev Graham may be on the up and up, but after getting burned by by Escape to Paradice and the two companies looking so much alike and both being in Suthern California, it makes one gun shie to even give them a try.

Timeshares have to be the premier scam out there today. Enter the timeshare sales boiler room at your own risk. The results are predictable. A multiple thousand purchase price and an annual maintenance fee that is enough to stay anywhere you desire without the hassle of the week you want not available. Multiply by 52 weeks and they are reaping some unbelievable income. Proof that purchasers that bought houses they couldn't afford aren't the only chumps out there. You will be lucky to find someone that will take it as a gift.

You didn't say when you paid him, if within the time frame call Mastercard and try to dispute the charge.
Sorry to say but until the economy recovers, time shares wont be selling. There was a glutton of time shares and time share rip offs in the market before the market tanked. The only people who have money now are the rich and they buy property, not time shares.

10/10/08...Follow up to the letter I sent to the company.
I am receiving calls from the company informing me that they have a potential buyer for my timeshare who wants to make an offer. They advise me that unless they have a signed contract (which I have not sent) they cannot proceed.
This is a ploy to get my contract signed thus validating keeping the $299.00 they received. They must think I am stupid. I was stupid to become involved with this timeshare company, but we learn from our mistakes. I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them.
When I see the offer in black and white with the name of the potential buyer I might reconsider.
