I purchased a car with an Exide battery already installed. The date code is 5-2015 and the warranty starts from this date which is 40 months on this battery. I had the battery checked at a couple of dealers and both refused to honor the warranty as  I did not have a receipt for the battery. I called Exide to verify warranty but was informed that they do not honor warranties if ownership transfers. Exides attitude is that of we are a sponser of Nascar so we do not really care of giving good service to the public.

YOU just want someone else to pay for YOUR battery issue. If there is no reciept then there is no way for them to honor a warranty. PERIOD!!!! Stop your whining as YOU have NOT been ripped off. YOU claim its a ripoff because someone gave YOU bad information and YOU dont want to PAY for a new battery. Firstly, just because YOU WHINE on a public forum doesnt mean that YOU are going to get your way. Secondly, by making a defamaing post YOU have put a bullseye on YOUR back. YOU do NOT have the right to LIE and BESMIRCH an innocent business just because they did not give YOU your way. The person who ORIGINALLY purchased the battery has the warranty NOT YOU!!!! Without proof of purchase they WILL NOT give you your way. YOU could have stolen the battery, someone could have just given you a battery. There are far too many reasons to NOT honor it then there is TO honor it.
