Expertec Crooks! HB California

 My car stalled and was towed to Expertec. Based on my description of the problem to my co-workers and friends, I had a general idea what the problem was. Expertec gave me a quote for $6500. When I insisted on having my car, a 2011 RangeRover to a RangeRover certified mechanic for a second opinion, they were difficult about releasing my car and insisted I pay them a diagnostic fee for a diagnosis that had nothing to do with what in fact needs to be fixed. They insisted the entire engine needed to be removed from the car, then "rebuilt refurbished and repolished " - again this is a 2011 RR and they are not a RR authorized mechanic. I had the car towed to my certified RR mechanic - the Rover DR in Irvine and as suggested by my friends the problem is with 1 fuel injector and the total estimate is $1200. There can never be an estimate with this huge difference by a mechanic that is not an expert in RR. And, to ensure that the job is done correctly, if they are not certified and do not posses the RR tools they should recommend you take it to people who can do the job the way it is supposed to be done - not take the entire engine out. I can only imagine how many other people they try to pull this on. I went in and met with Mark Troxell personally, and he had "lowly scammer/gauger " literally written all over his face. He appeared incredibly sheepish when I looked at him in the straight in the eye because we both knew exactly what was going on. This is why from now on I wil only do business with people after I meet with them face to face and recommend the same. This kind of gauging at this level - everyone should be too afraid to even try. Please do not take your car to these people. They are crooks. I can tell by looking at their reviews that they have hired an online reputation management company and therefore the reviews that actually appear are biased and do not accurately represent them.
