After being emailed, and told on the phone repeatedly, that my loan was approved and waiting to be transferred into my account,  I was told I had to pay a fee. The fee started out at $340 dollars, then an additional fee of $ 237 dollars, then yet another fee of $300 dollars needed to be paid before the loan would be transferred; with all fees needing to be done on a Money Dot Card.  I was a fool for the first 2 fees, but then got somewhat smart.  These people are very convincing,  and non stop.

Never pay an advance fee for a consumer loan

100% of the "loan company's" that ask you for money upfront are scammers. It is not legal anywhere in the US for a consumer loan company to charge you an advance fee. Go to the FTC(dot)gov website to read the warnings about it.

The scammer is counting on you not knowing that they can't charge you an advance fee. The scammer is counting on your desperation. Any fee, such as security fee, insurance fee, or any XYZ fee, is a dead give away that they are a scammer. The company name may or may not be real, but for sure you are dealing with a scammer and all the contact info is fake. These people steal company names to trick you into thinking they are legitimate. The personal names are fake. The phone number is temporary until they scam enough people to dump it.

And then, if the upfront fee request doesn't stop you, the minute they ask for the fee to be sent on a Money Dot card or Western Union or Money Gram or any similar untraceable method ought to tip you off. Report them to the police, but it is doubtful they can do anything to get you your money back as it is now gone.

Don't send money to strangers for a loan ever for any reason.
