I bought a brand new camper trailer at Family Campers in Lebanon, Tennessee. The deep cycle battery died after about a year. The sale date was never punched out on the tag on top of the battery but when I pulled the battery out of the box, I discovered the date of manufacture stamped in the side of the battery was more than 3 years prior to the date I bought the camper. They stuck a USED battery in my new camper and passed it off as a new one. Shame on them.

AUTHOR: Greg Nowling - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 09, 2012

My name is Greg Nowling and I am the owner of Family Campers.

I am also the Service Manager.

We purchase all of our batteries directly from Interstate Batteries.  In any given month we purchase 1 to 2 pallets or about 120 batteries.

Between sales and service we sell and/or replace about 100 batteries a month.

Every camper that we sell gets a brand new Interstate battery.  We even provide a "how to maintain your battery" document that stresses the importance of keeping your coach battery healthy.

Is it possible that an older battery somehow got put in Mark's camper.  Absolutely!  We are human and it is possible as all Interstate batteries look alike.

Is it more likely that Interstate sold us an out of date battery?  Probably as we pull the batteries directly from the pallets.

Either way, if Mark had contacted our service department, I would have got the phone call and would have taken care of it right away.

Mark,  please contact me personally in service.

By the way, I can't find a customer named Mark that lives in Clarksville in our customer database.

Respectfully,

Gregory Nowling
