I ordered a DVD of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" from the Family DVD Wholesale website after not finding new copies on other websites. I should have been suspicius of the price of $7.99.
The DVD arrived in a few days by parcel post. The lableling on the case looked legitimate and listed the extras: dts and Dolby Digital sound, widescreen, enhanced for 16:9 tvs, 3 "enchanting" versions of the film, etc. Strangely it said it had English, Chinese, Malay and Thai subtitles.
When I viewed the DVD I could not find an "enhanced for 16:9" image, only a letterboxed for 4:3 version, no dts soundtrack, and the image quality was more like a VHS tape. Although the case said it was a THX certified version there was no THX logos or intros. I also could not register it as I could with other Disney DVDs.
I also noticed that no sales tax was charged even though I am in the same state as the DVD was sold in.
This DVD was not as adverised on their website.
