I came to this place to look for help for an attorney to File a divorce against my husband. I was referred to him by a friend at work and thought it would have been a safe choice. So after a call and short conversation I was told to come in. I did so and had a short meeting going over the details of the Maraige.

He insisted on asking me how "much money that we are talking about in the marriage.” It seemed that’s all he cared about. But after telling him that I didn’t have much money and my husband has been taking care of me, he then only shift this is attention to what we had in our savings after asking him how much his retainer would be. Basically it sounded like his retainer would be based on how much money that we had saved.

I was totally uncomfortable with this and he couldn’t give me a straight answer on how much is fee was. So I told him I would think about it. I was going to talk to other attorneys and let him know if I chose him. He then told me that I owed $500 for the meeting! Again I told him I haven’t hired him nor did he told me that I owed $500 just to show up.

He then told me that I had filled out everything already and I couldn’t go back on it. So at that point we were arguing and I $500 for the meeting! Again I told him I haven’t hired him nor did he tell me that I owed $500 just to show up. He then told me that I had filled out everything already and I couldn’t go back on it. So at that point I left. I ended up hiring another attorney. And didn’t think of this meeting much.

Until recently when I received a bill at my house for $2500. He claims that he’s done a bunch of work and I owe him money. But I never even hired him in the first place I merely showed up for a consultation in which he never said cost any amount. And when I asked about fees to hire him He was never straight and kept asking about how much money that I have in the marriage to be able to calculate how much the fees would be.

When I met my new attorney he said this was totally unethical and gave me a breakdown of his hourly rate etc. I was so ticked off about this that I had to post what’s going on with this company. Total money scheme. Hey he was never straight and kept asking about how much money that I have in the marriage to be able to calculate how much the fees would be.
