First Consumers National Bank Preferred Charge DID NOT UPDATE MY CREDIT REPORT FOR AN ACCOUNT PAID OFF IN NOVEMBER OF 2000 Beaverton Oregon
*Consumer Suggestion: Distpute with credit bureau
FCNB is now owned by BB&T.
I settled an FCNB account through Plaza Associates collection agency in November of 2000. I have all supporting documentation: letters from the collection agency as well as FCNB stating that the account was "settled in full". I also have the cancelled check.
How do I contact this deadbeat company to have my credit report updated?

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Distpute with credit bureau
AUTHOR: Krista - (U.S.A.)

Probably the best (and easiest) thing to do would be to dispute the account status with the credit bureau... When the investigation is complete and the information updated, send a copy to the credit card company certified mail. If, at any point in the future, they re-report it after they have received your documents, you can file suit against them for knowingly reporting false credit information. (I went through this with another company)
GOOD LUCK!!!
