I was a member of Fitness Evolution for a couple months and never had any big problems with their payment systems. It was somewhat irritating that they would charge my monthly membership under different names ("gym dues" or "system fees") and on different dates of the month, each month. In early September, I went into the gym to cancel my membership because I was moving to another state. I went in, canceled, signed the paperwork (which I read top to bottom) and got verbal aggrement that my bank account would no longer be charged or used in any way, other than for paying the current  month and next months bill (because they require 30 day notice).

I moved away and never thought of the gym again, until I noticed that my bank account continued to be charged for monthly memberships 90 days after I have canceled it. Then I noticed another charge on my account of double what my membership used to be, so I finally called my bank and reported it to them.Everytime I called Fitness Evolution, the manager was either busy or not available. One day I called, I decided to let the person on the phone who answered look into these charges so that I could get some answers.

After giving her my information to look into my account, she said that the reason I continued to get charged for a membership was because they always charge for the next month. I finally got her to understand that was 90 days ago and she still could not give me an exact answer of why they continued to charge me. I was actually surprised that she did not even have exact dates or records of this in the account anywhere! When I asked about the random charge, she said it was my yearly fee... Once again, I had to ask why I was being charged a yearly fee when I am not even a member anymore and have not been for over 3 months!? And again, no exact answer.

After no solution, I asked her to please remove my bank account information from their system and she said she would, although I doubt it. I have contacted my bank again and explained the concern I had, so they have filed a fraud report against the business and currently are waiting for the investigators to get the information they need (which they are probably having problems reaching a manager or business owner, because they are never there or available). If you are a current member or you recently canceled your membership at this gym- keep an eye on your bank account and report these fraudulent charges to your bank and the BBB so that this does not happen to anyone else!
