Eros had ringworm when I purchased him and I called her within a hour of gettin him and she basically told me I was a liar. I took the kitten to the vet before I went home and he was found to have ringworm. I would like to be reimbursed for the vet expenses and she flatly refused. She had a vet receipt and I question whether the vet actually saw this kitten because the spot was obvious. The only reason I didn't see it before I left with him was becasue we were 5 hours away and at a motel and she was so late in coming that we had to check out and meet her down the road in a parking lot.

Thinking back, it may have been planned that way so that I wouldn't have time or space to inspect him before we left. I have since given the cat away. And I fully disclosed his past health issues. I did not want a ringworm issue in my cattery.

The entire situation was a mess. I had arranged to go to Tennessee to get the kitten and I was going on a Friday and was staying at a nice resort and I was going to keep the kitty there with me and then go home.

Well on the way up she called my cell and told me that it would be too stressful for the kitten to be introduced to two different places and she'd bring the kitten to me before I checked out on the 31st. She knew I was checking out by 10 (resort rules). She called me at 9:45 and told me she'd be an hour late and that she'd meet me down the road. My husband had to go to work that night (3rd shifter) and I said ok - but that it would have to be quick. She showed up almost 2 hours later.

I was waiting in a parking lot and had to go potty so bad but was afraid to leave. I'd paid for the kitty in full about a month prior. Well when she came it had to be quick so We just picked kitty from one carrier and put him in the other - exchanged paperwork and we left.

Less than an hour later I had him out in the car and I was playing with him and my hubby said - what;s wrong with his leg - it was BALD at the elbow - not just a little - about 4 inches and 4 inches on a 10 week old kitten is a lot. I think I still have pictures. Anyway - I called her immediately on her cell phone and I asked her what it was. She told me she'd just given him a bath and he'd been examined by a vet the day before and basically called me a liar.

I immediately called the vet # that was on the receipt and he told me that he could have missed it. I don't think it was THAT cat that she took to the vet because he would have seen it IF he had looked at the cat. I called my vet and 5 hours later - BEFORE I even went home, I took the cat in and he was diagnosed with ringworm. I wrote to her the next day and told her that I didn't want to use it for breeding becasue I've heard that sometimes these things lay dormant and then spring back up and that if she'd reimburse me for the breeding fee and the vet meds. I'd get him neutered and that that would be it.

She was VERY nasty and refused. We haven't spoken since. I DID threaten her with the health department because she works for Pizza Hut, thinking she might reimburse me for the vet bill/meds - but she never even responded. I just dropped the issue and got the kitten well and gave him to a friend (fully disclosing his previous health issue) and washed my hands of the whole thing. But I'm tired of always getting the raw end of the deal. So I'm doing this. I doubt anything will come of it tho. That's my story.

I read this website prior to agreeing to purchase a kitten from Betty. Of course, she had every excuse to defend herself.

My mistake..I met her on June 14, 2005 to pick up a kitten born March 26, 2005. Two weeks after this date, I noticed a ringworm lesion on its back. My veterinarian can confirm the diagnosis.

I also contacted her vet in Tennessee and he confirmed he saw this litter of three kittens and my kitten's littermate also had ringworm. So, the nightmare began.

Betty knew I had two other cats. I had to isolate the new kitten for weeks, while I went thru intense treatment for ringworm in all the cats. The kitten I bought also had very runny eyes when I picked him up and soon after the ringworm diagnosis, my other cat became very sick with a sore throat and high fever. An URI was confirmed by my vet, which she attibuted to the kitten. My cat had to be treated for over a week, never mind scaring the hell out of me. I contacted Betty and asked her to reimburse me j! ust for the ringworm treatments. No response. The amount I asked for was nothing compared to the aggrevation I have been through. Bathing and isolating a kitten is horrible for all. I think this woman needs to clean up her cattery now... as in my eyes, it's abuse to put cats/kittens thru this.
